UPDATED CESSNA 172 COLD & DARK MOD

Cessna 172 dark and cold mod

(From Modder, Jet-Pack)

Hey everyone,

since we just got a new version for the Aerofly FS 2, I also updated my own Cessna 172 mod and reuploaded it:

If you have never heard of this mod before here is an outline of what it adds to your Cessna 172 aircraft when installed:

- adds engine on/off feature
- mixture lever can now be moved, only used for mixture cut off so far
- parking brake added
- yokes can be hidden to show the switches underneath
- changed the flight model
- doors and windows can be opened and create drag in flight (if you really need to descent fast LOL)
- sun shades can be rotated

-----------------------

Changes since last version of this mod:

- used fuel simulation and electical system to its fullest, a lot of code could be simplified because the simulation is now taking care of most of the logic needed.
- redid the engine starting with more modern techniques that became available with the last version
- added multiple ways to change the state of switches (left and rightclick as well as scroll wheel)
- fuel empty should now kill the engine
- gyro compass adjust added
- improved the starter key auto-return to both magnetos
- added parking brake

-----------------------

What I know does not work yet:

- engine data isn't accurate
- mixture leaning does not work
- magneto check not working yet
- parking brake can't hold the airplane, sadly
- refuelling needs a reload of the airplane...
- GPS approach can be armed but autopilot does not react to it at all. I don't have the right hooks to do such a thing...
- intercom not simulated
- tow bar is not implemented (buhh) :D
- tablet can not be thrown out of the window yet... also does not fly up to the ceiling when I push forward on the controls... someone must have spilled super glue or something LOL

Aerofly FS 2 Beta Update Version 2.0.1EA3.32

Dear Aerofly users,

We just published a small update to Aerofly that should result in a higher frame rate and might improve your experience when using VR. As this version might not be stable, we have only publish it in our Beta channel. Here is whats new:

As usual, we strongly recommend to update your 3D driver before trying this update as we are using a few new OpenGL features that require up to date drivers.

As some VR users reported, they experience a better image quality when rendering with a higher pixel density. With this update you may know set this directly from within Aerofly FS 2. Keep in mind however that increasing the pixel density ( we can this factor the Render Scale Factor in Aerofly ), has a strong impact on the performance. Please only use it if you have a Geforce 1070 GTX or faster.

  • Improved Rendering speed of up to 25% compared to the last update with version 2.0.1 EA3.30
  • Added new VR option that allows you to set the pixel density. Please use this option with care, it has a strong impact on the performance.
  • Fixed camera rotation resulted in oddly looking clouds especially while using VR
  • Improved Longer flight recording of 10 minutes

Please report back any issues you encounter with this update.

Aerofly FS 2 Update Version 2.0.1EA3.36

Dear Aerofly users,

Here is another update for Aerofly FS 2. With this update we mainly addressed some graphic issue and improve the Saitek devices support. As a reference we have also included changes from previous updates.

For HTC Vive users: To get the best experience with your HTC Vive we recommend to turn on 'Allow reprojection' as well as 'Perf Heuristic Active' in the SteamVR performance settings window. If enabled, please disable 'Enable Always-On Reprojection' in the developer window of SteamVR. We also strongly recommend to reduce cumulus clouds to a minimum for better performance.

Here is the list of changes in this update

2016-09-16

  • Fixed rendering issues with landmarks, clouds and shadows since last update
  • Fixed creating screenshots while in VR
  • Fixed transponder code can be set with Saitek Radio Panel and buttons/keys
  • Changed head tracking with HTC Vive ( To get the best experience with your HTC Vive we recommend to turn on 'Allow reprojection' as well as 'Perf Heuristic Active' in the SteamVR performance settings window! )
  • Added default assignments for Saitek Radio Panel for COM and transponder
  • Added F18 autopilot controllable via Upper Front Control (WIP)
  • Changed A320 small improvements/fixes to displays
  • Fixed A320 flap / slat sequence
  • Changed ASG29 flight computer improvements

2016-09-09

  • Improved depth buffer rendering for less flickering of distant objects

Almost there featurewise for a purchase from me. Just need to be able to save a flight and continue from where I last saved cold and dark like you can in FSX and P3D as fell as Saitek FIP support. This could be my main flight simulator. Like so many have said previously. This product has great potential!
