FS Labs A320 FSX release set for 18 Aug

And boy gee golly I hope you're a lawyer either in-house or on retainer for one of these developers. Your ability to generally quantify risk on their behalf, given effectively zero precedent, is pretty astounding.

Covered years ago, in this thread for example.

Been a pleasure talking with you.  And thanks for the reminder of what a charming place Avsim is.

Outta here...

What is the point of all this discussion or debate as some of you may call it?

I mean , apart from venting your frustration, what will it achieve?

This is a bargain after buying the Aerowinx PSX for $350.

Yes if FSL is on Aerowinx PSX Level. But if not? Then its not a bargain.

Just curious as I did not follow the development of this aircraft... Does anybody have some kind of feature list for this aircraft?

What I am trying to figure it out is... what will make it worth to purchase for someone (like me but almost everyone..) who already owns the Aerosoft Airbus?

Will they have realistical failures?

Considering also that Aerosoft will probably come out with A330 begin 2017 and follow that with a last service pack to the 320 for a last significan improvement...

I guess not everyone understands sarcasm.

Yeah I agree you don't!

Oh I dont know you pay the same for a 777 that constantly ctds using p3d when using the dome light, left clicking on the left fmc and right clicking to wing view and has numerous memory leaks.

I'll stick to my aerosoft 320 which to date has never ctd on me.

Basically... everything. It can be fed with data from the real airbus, it has 3D fuel tanks so that fuel movement is simulated, all that sort of high level stuff not even PMDG has.

Then your general stuff: Failures, realistic weather radar, realistic displays with actual Airbus fonts perfectly drawn, you name it.

If they can deliver all this (and i believe they will just by looking at their Concorde), we have a new study sim in our hands, more realistic than anything out there.

Well, everytime I think the END of fsx has arrived for me, something New happens and makes me retreat...

It was like this with PMDG's 777, now it's the long awaited FSLabs A320...

It's worth having FSX installed just for these add-ons. It's like having customs sims for each one.

Regardless of the price, the Aerosoft Airbus offers exactly what I want: the basic stuff a pilot sees and does on a regular day. I am not interested in failures and '3D fuel tanks' and stuff I don't actually see or notice or use. My simming needs aren't that deep. For those who like EVERYTHING to work as in the real world, this could well be a dream come true but my dream has already come true with the Aerosoft Airbus. We all have differend dreams. In fact, I love the FS2-crew-like checklist the Aerosoft has and I think the FSLabs one would actually satisfy me much less. Again, we all have different dreams.

Concerning the price: it's all a matter of perspective and what you are used to. 100 bucks (for the FSX version already) is a lot indeed and too much for me but then again: another hobby of mine is making music and I have spend sometimes a few hundred bucks on ONE 'addon' without blinking an eye (as a matter of speech...). If I see a sampled virtual instrument for less than 100 bucks, the first thing I think is: that instrument probably sucks. Way too cheap. 100 bucks for a really deep simulated aircraft is peanuts (specially compared to professional prices) but personally, for me, it is way too much. It's also the reason why I don't buy PMDG planes. This doesn't mean the addon isn't worth the money: it just isn't worth it to me.

I was looking forward to this product (for P3D) but that pricing is way beyond my reach. Guess this is what you're rewarded with for moving on to a better and constantly evolving platform. Likewise, PMDG products for FSX were pushing my personal financial boundary for third party products but I still picked up the NGX and 777. Seeing what the same product costs under P3D meant that my FSX purchases were taking a direct one way flight to the virtual graveyard.

Anyway, like someone else mentioned, I'm going to enjoy FSL A320 through other members of the community and what they share (pictures, videos and reviews). On a related note, I think I'm finally beginning to see how expensive this hobby is turning out to be!

Hope the folks that do pick it up have an incredible and trouble free experience with this since it probably is the first high-fidelity Airbus simulation; or at least it claims to be.

Thing is, Aerosoft's model is mostly wrong. Performance is wrong and most of the aircraft's reactions to the environment are incorrect - It's not the first time my aircraft crashes into the ground after takeoff because of this, and even worse if i use IAE engines.

Plus, it cannot fly some procedures without going into "its own mode" and failing to comply with some instructions given on the FCU. This is why i want the FSL Airbus, i expect it to do what i just told it to, and not act up on me.

As far as the 3D tanks are concerned, you can actually see it if you are landing or taking off (don't really remember the exact situation in which this occurs) with a determined quantity of fuel... You will see a low fuel warning just like on the real aircraft because of this. The aircraft is alive, it's not just a bunch of IF-THEN-ELSES going around.

And thanks for the reminder of what a charming place Avsim is.

I can't believe the lather that some work themselves into over a computer game add-on. If you don't like it, don't buy it - no one is forcing you.

Fair point. For those who own and love the Aerosoft version, paying $100 would would not be cost effective to someone who is only interested in normal operations.

But paying in the $100 region for high specialised addons like this is going to become more and more common considering the exceptional development time to bring it to market. It is still great value for money whichever way you slice the cake. You could easily blow $100 on a night out.

I think August 18 will be some kind of re-birth of FSX.... It's like a cat this sim.... And we'll have yet another one the day PMDG releases their upcoming 744 QoTS ....

The quality and complexity of FSX add-ons, and even the additional stability provided by FSX:SE, prevents FSX from being uninstalled from any simmer PC - heck! even from the UNINSTALLER PC !!!
