P3D 3.4 Experience Thread

Featured Replies

I upgraded to P3d 3.4 at the beginning of October and upgraded all the software I had (ASN then was my weather app - since upgraded to AS2016) and was dismayed to find my long standing micro stutter problem still existed and it became unusable at low altitudes- the old P3d story for me....end of all possibility

However on the 20th of October [which I'll now label 'Revelation Day] the gods at NVIDIA realeased a new driver for my Titan Black. P3d was set free - totally smooth performance and in fact I was able to max out all settings and still get staggering performance almost on the ground at Innsbruck (Just Sim version) and even Aerosoft Heathrow with no configuration until I ran out of memory, which is understandable.  Orbx textures maxed out across three screens at 2K resolutions.

So now I'm happy I've got a P3d installation that I dreamed of - not quite free from problems (Control issues with Aerosoft Airbuses & QW B757) but Ill sort those out.....and I don't care my Aerosoft Twotter revels in swimming in a glorious environment ....paradise  :Tounge:

Just tried out the latest driver myself and I'm equally happy and excited to confirm I too can't see one single micro stutter anymore using this new driver and this is something I never seen before

I just watched the ground very closely from a wing view perspective where you usually will always spot some micro stuttering but this time it just wasn't there anymore...100% smooth!!

This driver is a keeper for sure!!

Just upgraded to 375.63 from 368.22. With TIR looking out the side window (my 'micro stutter' nightmare) I saw absolutely no improvement in micro stutters (yes, I set the NI P3D profile and deleted the shaders). Oh well. :fool:

Sorry to hear that and not sure why it would that different for us. In my case (although I'm not using TIR anymore) I definitely noticed an improvement in the way I described.

I've had good performance overall but these small micro stutters have always been there until today after I upgraded to this latest version of the Nvidia driver. I only installed the graphics driver and no other modules and I chose the clean installation option in the Nvidia installation program and I finished off by deleting the shaders.

Ditto! Don't get me wrong, the combination of P3D 3.3.5 and NVidia 368.22 provided the best overall experience I've been able to achieve and with the move to 3.4.9 and this latest 375.63, it's still just as good... I was just hoping for the last bit of stuttering to finally be cured. Unfortunately, that didn't happen for me. But I am happy that it worked for you and anyone else!

I went back to p3d v3.3.5 (just the client), let's see how this will behave. v3.4.9 just became too much oom to take.

Hi just a mention I am using Version 375.57 which could be a sweet one for P3d - I got the notification of 375.63 this morning I am resisting  . Perhaps someone who has the technical knowledge could have a look at the specs to see what might be the cause - perhaps Lockheed Martin maybe I'll email them.

After doing a ddu wipe of my drivers and installing 375.63, my nvidia control panel is nowhere to be found. Great performance and zero stutters, but I feel as though I lost the last bit of control I had without the control panel! Is this just me, or is the control panel gone?

I still have the NCP so must be something that went wrong during your uninstall/install. I would suggest to try reinstalling the latest version again.

I'm on same version 375.63 and Win 10 Pro Anniversary Ed and have a 90Ti if that matters for the drivers and what is installed and not.

Crap, I thought that might be the case. Did you do a full wipe with ddu or did you install over top of your previous drivers? This has never happened to me before, I think I might have to do a clean wipe back to earlier driver and install the latest overtop. Thanks!

I still have it also. Clean install option over previous (a method which has served me well for the last four years).

Thanks guys, looks like that is my next course of action.

Yep, same thing here...I always trust Nividia's own installer when it comes to their own drivers.

I do however always use the clean install option or whatever it's called to make sure I get a fresh install of the new driver. Also I never install any modules of the drivers but the actual driver.

Looks like I got the control panel back. Wiped back to 373, then did 375 overtop without wiping. All is good in the world.
