Thanks jcomm,

I think it's OK now- (see my modified post above). I was at an airport not close to me and thought when it load the no visibility that this was real weather- seems to be some kind of "initialization"?

I will try some more, but I think it's working now.....

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated!

When you want to be sure Ventura Sky is running, check that both, Python Interface and NOAA Weather show up in X-Plane's Plug-ins dropdown. If yes, good. Check in the NOAA menu that it is enabled.

Open the Dev Console, everything should be set. Fly around with the Dev Consle open to see how Ventura handles visibility (nothing will happen unless you fly into a new METAR perimeter or climb above 10.000ft).

I believe my problems had their origin in RWC metar fetching, or smoothing algorithm ( with adjacent staions ).

Is it possible to use FSGRW as opposed to the NOAA Weather plugin?

if someone can make a video it be really appreciated

I'm trying to get Ventura Sky to work.

I placed the VS 1.2 lua file in the Scripts folder

I have NOOA as a folder in the the main Resources/Plugin folder

the .py Python folder is in the NOOA folder

When I fire up XP, I get VS trying to compare a nil file on the left top, and the LUA ENGINE HAS STOPPED on the right top of the screen

I do not see the NOOA plugin in the drop down.

Can somebody tell me please hand-hold, where what needs to go?

Thanks...

Doing this from memory so hope I didn't miss anything.

In the PlugIn folder you need to create a PythonScripts folder.  Then place the NOAA folder, and the .py file in the PythonScripts folder.

Also make sure you have either Python 2.6 or 2.7 installed.

Well..everything is installed..and still no joy....LUA stopped..

compare string to nil...

Where does the VS Sky lua go?  The python scripts folder, where the Noaa folder is,...or inside the Lua Engine Script folder?!?!?

Right now I have it where the old RTM scripts use to be...and VS is not working.

I also get no NOAA drop down

What does the dev console say? I bet that is says NOAA is not installed correctly. If you follow the provided manuals, it will work.
