I wouldn't mind an early access beta to help iron out issues.

My wife owns a very good iron that I'm pretty handy with, so I'd be happy to help also.

I also assumed by now that the 747 has been well in beta testing now from what I've read. I certainly hope that it's not in tech testing.

Aaron,

The above comment shows how totally and completely ignorant you are of how we test products.  This product will remain in tech testing for approximately 2.5 years, including the lead time up to release, and the period of time post release.  So saying that you hope the product is not still in tech testing is the same as saying you hope the product is no longer in development.

.

Folks,

It is rather humorous reading some of the totally ignorant comments being made in this thread.

A few, (Phil Brown for example) are totally uninformed yet so besotted with the importance of their own opinion that they will eagerly insinuate some odd-ball conspiracy/malice of misrepresentation, while they aren't even aware of the fact that we engage and operate multiple testing processes and multiple testing teams in the process of moving a product forward to release.

As our products have become more complicated, we have seen a very sizable shift in the amount of time that a product spends in Tech vs. Wide Beta testing.  Our tech teams have become so well engaged that we could probably skip the traditional beta test process altogether if we wanted...   (These guys have decades and hundreds of thousands of hours of combined experience with the 747, while our wide beta team has decades and hundreds of thousands of hours using FS- so we rely upon the two teams for totally different aspects in testing.

Does that have ANY bloody thing to do with the release timeline of a product?  No.

Does it matter to you or somehow change the date at which you will be able to access the product?  No.

That whole thing that Abe Lincoln said about opening your mouth and proving yourself a fool...  Yeah- it applies here too.

Look, I know it is fun to kick around oddball conspiracy theories about PMDG "hiding something" or "lying" but all you do is make yourself look dumb in public.  (Which should be a capital offense!)  The team is quite dedicated to the task- and you will get it when we feel it is ready.

Just like the NGX and the 777...  (dev cycles in which we also saw similarly stupid comments made.)

So relax...  It is almost finished- and no amount of lying or conspiracy cooking will impact the timeline...

Cool down Robert :-)

There are always some "special snowflakes" in every forum on this world :-)

Go ahead and do your work.

I also work as software architect and can tell a lot about "testing".

People should see what huge amount of time and effort it takes to really test software to its core! We have a whole department  with around 10 people that only ORGANIZE tests in our company!

And we are not a software company but an automotive supplier!

So you are right, a lot of people do not have a clue what is behind "software development". Coding stuff is easy... Coding without bugs and fullfilling the requirements - that's the hard part ;-)

Whatever.... I am looking forward to the 747. A new toy. Until then I have BF1, Forza Horizon, Civ... A lot of good games at the moment, so take your time ;-D

Waiting patiently as well...don't let the minority nay-sayers get under your skin, brother Robert.

I heard the reason for the delay was to properly model the chem trail feature. <adjusts tin foil hat>

Shhhhhhh....  I spent my morning out laying chemtrails over some red-states in the eastern USA.  The mixture just changed slightly- I presume to suppress voter turnout next tuesday.

I have a friend who works in the lab that mixes the stuff....  i mean... no i don't....  <cough>

Pawel,

Funny.  I'm about to do a bit more tuning of wingflex tonight.  We had a miserable day of weather with continual moderate turbulence in the FL250-FL390 realm today.  3.1hrs unable to sip my coffee because of the risk of facial burns.  So when I got home I pulled that wx for Active Sky and I'll be using it to adjust the rigidity computation a bit further tonight....

Something good had to come out of my lack of coffee.  :P

Robert, as a liver specialist, let me assure you that no good can ever come from a lack of coffee

Nothing could be more important in a 747-400 simulation than a good bit of wing flex.  Even if you released a flying pair of wings I would be mesmerised for at least a few weeks.

Keep up the good work in a crucial part of your simulation ;)

Cheers,

Mixed thoughts on that for me since how often will I be watching that while piloting?

Thread went on a tangent. I re-wound it back to the fork in the road where it had initially departed course.

*unpause*

[side Note: I think we're usually pretty lenient around here, but when people distort reality seemingly in order to stir up drama, your response will probably be pretty direct.]
