November 26, 20169 yr My first (and only, sadly) flight on a 747 was on a KLM flight with an 747-400 from Amsterdam to New York/John F Kennedy. Nice flight - seated right behind Business Class Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
December 5, 20169 yr I'm very impressed by the subtle curvature of the CRT screens! Hey, is that an optional extra light sensor I see in the bottom left hand corner of the CRT displays in the screenshots? And who painted over the BCF Elevator Feel static ports and stole my upper ATC Antenna? :Shame On You: Looks like I missed out on all the beta fun Cheers John (Nitpicky) Watson
December 5, 20169 yr Commercial Member Hey, is that an optional extra light sensor I see in the bottom left hand corner of the CRT displays in the screenshots? haha - didn't even notice that. Just compared it to my photos of our study bird and mentioned it to the guys. And who painted over the BCF Elevator Feel static ports and stole my upper ATC Antenna? The BCF isn't fully finished yet. It'll be in the next few updates for the Beta testers. I'll keep an eye out for this though. The antennas can be optionally switched through a number of different antenna types and locations on the top side. Kyle Rodgers
December 5, 20169 yr Seems like this December window might have some extra wallet issues as FSL might be on the toes as well with P3D . That's why I'm glad I got the FSX release, that way when the P3D comes out I just pay the difference and keep both licenses! -Patrick Kazmierczak Prepar3D, FSX, FSX-SE, X-Plane 10 Specs: AMD [email protected], 16gb ram, EVGA GTX970FTW+, Windows 10
December 5, 20169 yr That's why I'm glad I got the FSX release, that way when the P3D comes out I just pay the difference and keep both licenses! Is that really how it works? I might do that myself! A
December 5, 20169 yr Is that really how it works? I might do that myself! Yes it is, they have it in a statement in their forums. "We expect the price of the "first level" P3D A320-X to be approximately US$30-40 more than the FSX one - and this is what all FSX customers will have to pay to upgrade to it, while at the same time maintaining both licenses. FSLabs is not in the business of exchanging or revoking previously purchased licenses. If you owned the FSX version, you'll still own it after buying the upgrade for P3D." http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/8097-an-update-what-will-happen-next/ From what I understand that will not apply once the P3D version actually releases though, only for those that already own the FSX version at that time. -Patrick Kazmierczak Prepar3D, FSX, FSX-SE, X-Plane 10 Specs: AMD [email protected], 16gb ram, EVGA GTX970FTW+, Windows 10
December 5, 20169 yr Hi, Might be a little off topic to talk about FSLabs pricing policy in a topic related to the Beta testing of the PMDG 747v3! Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
December 5, 20169 yr Sorry I thought they were talking about the 747 I didn't read the FSL bit. That's why I was surprised. A

December 6, 20169 yr haha - didn't even notice that. Just compared it to my photos of our study bird and mentioned it to the guys. Thanks, Kyle. Also.... from the beta video... a few observations... Should there be an ANTISKID OFF msg? This usually means that there is no electrical power to all antiskid channels (or park brake valve not fully open when park brake is not set). EE CLNG SUP FAN (Status message) ??? Aircraft power and Equip Cooling switch seems to be normal. After entering the ORIGIN on the CDU, you can't downselect the entry into the scratchpad (same for DEST) on the real aircraft. During the light test, the RCP digital displays and lights should flash (and LCD's on MCP where LCD MCP fitted). CARGO DET AIR message shouldn't be displayed (at least 2 engines must be running for this fault message to appear) The APU Gen ON lights seem to be taking too long to extinguish during engine start. Same for the GEN CONT OFF light to extinguish. I'd say that the lights should extinguish around the time the engine start valve light extinguishes. Caveat: It's been a while since I've observed this. Can you get real world pilot confirmation (on particular engine types). Preflight video operator errors.... "FUEL TRF MAIN 1&4 should be off" .. during preflight.... The wrong switch/es were pointed to. "LDG ALT Switch" Why was this turned on? An EICAS message was generated and a MAN flag appeared at the bottom of the Upper EICAS. When starting the engines, the procedure for AUTOSTART was used, despite not having an AUTOSTART switch (lucky there wasn't a fire). For Engineering... APU OIL QTY may need topping up soon (minimum is 0.60 running, 0.80 not running) The Multi-Input Printer needs paper! (indicator shows close to empty and there is a red stripe showing on the paper) Looking forward to more videos. Thanks! John H Watson
December 6, 20169 yr So I have a dilemma ... I am looking at some good deals on a 3d monitor to help with my online flying but if I get one I wont have the cash for the P3d PMDG 744v3 until Jan 2017. Guesses for release before then should I go ahead with the monitor?

Guesses for release before then should I go ahead with the monitor? Definitely go ahead with the monitor brother Chris. . No use having a great 747 displaying on a sub-par monitor. Go big and if you can afford it, go 4K. 4K, 55 inch TV changed my simming experience for ever.

I currently have a 1440p 32" but want to go bigger like 34 or 35 even, but not much bigger than that. For the life of me can't find ANY monitors (at 1440p or 4k) that are larger than 32" that are 16:9 (they are all more stretched and widescreened than 16:9) --- Bo Chen

December 6, 20169 yr Are there any recommended 4k monitors larger than 32 inch that maintain the same 16:9 ratio? I think the days of there being a big difference between computer monitors and TVs is passing. Today there are many good 4K TVs with 16:9 ratio that are capable of knocking your socks off. I've had the 42-in Samsung for most of the year and I love it. The only thing I notice different from a computer monitor is that I have to turn it on and off, the HDMI 2.0 is easily capable of the 4K resolutions at 60Hz although I use it at 30Hz refresh and 20 fps locked frame rate.
