Well, for the old bird, right. And I think no one expects this plane to be released for FS9 as well. But... FSX is still developed for, isn't it?

Correct, but the original 744's code is so old that it is running afoul of drivers and code bases in modern operating systems. The original 744 is no longer supported after being removed from the market prior to that.

The new version will, obviously, be supported.

Kyle Rodgers

Well, that's all I needed to know, thanks :)

Volker Heuermann

I got in the mood to fly a 747 again at the end of 2014.  I neglected the 747 for years. The PMDG 747 original had some small graphical issues in the vc that could not be fixed. I've been waiting to have the Queen updated. It is close now!- David Lee

It is close now!

It is in beta testing. That is close. even if testing takes 3 months. That is close than looking at pre alpha shots and praying like the past I did. - David Lee

Dec 2106.

Not even PMDG can resist the false imperative of Christmas sales...go ahead PMDG:  I dare you...

Some how i think it might be just a tiny bit sooner then 90 years from now! I've heard of long development cycles but that's pushing it a bit!

December release?

Seems highly unlikely.. The beta testers are still not allowed to post pictures of what needs to be rectified.. And we don't know what those items are.. So..I guess once we have more preview pictures.. And videos..

We would be closer to release..

Anyways, absolutely pumped for this aircraft.. It'll be the first time I buy a pmdg add-on for myself.. And I've been waiting for a new 747 for as long I can remember.

To most people the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home.

To be clear, I'm not having a go. Near perfection takes time. I just love when people think PMDG Beta testing is 'close' to release. We'll be rewarded, I'm sure, when the time comes.

If you follow their previous releases you will notice that the more beta testers post the pics the closer they are to release. Not saying it's imminent but more pics is like a unofficial countdown

Once Froogle releases a video, I would take that as a cue of imminence.
