Any additional tweaks for u, like for example disabling external model of 777? What settings u use?

AM 116 as am running 4cores with HT ON

At the moment no models turned off

AS16 cloud draw min 90 max 110 rest mostly "normal" use AS Cloud art with Sky and structures turned on. Clouds are REX Soft/REX4

P3D 3.4

Also I use 2 screens one above the other. This help with FPS as am not zoom out =cut down the amount of "drawing"
Also Am showing because of how I run on 2 screen how I get more FPS out of the NG with these options set, also I do the same with the 777.

This is my view of the sim as screen are set so there almost one.

So with four cores leave it with no AM

Steve,

I remember reading another thread (cannot find it right now)  in which you said that in P3D the best AM with a 4 core processor was 15 as it "forced" P3D to use all 4 processors. Maybe my understanding was not correct. Now you say that with 4 cores it is better to leave no AM which, I believe, is no Jobscheduler section added to .cfg. Can you clarify as I suspect I may have missed or misinterpreted something somewhere ?

Thanks a lot

When we don't specify the AM it's assumed to be zero. Since zero has no Ones in the binary representation it would mean all cores off. Instead it's taken to mean all cores on. So in the case of a four core that would be 1111=15 decimal, in the case of six cores 111111=63 and so on. There's no mention of software being forced to use the available Logical Processors (LPs), with or without an AM. In general the jobsheduler decides where each next thread will start, however these sims don't just start up with an affinity and all the stuff just happens. Instead they create "jobs" on certain LPs in order to split the many processes out intelligently across the available LPs. For example when we have only three LPs there's more work on the LP with the rendering section because the work has to be carried out in the available LPs. Allow the use of four and that LP is alleviated of some work which appears on another LP.

That's funny, the times I've read " 3.2 was the best for VAS" and "I want to go back to 3.2"

Sometimes a clean install can work wonders like wiping hard drive and reinstalling windows.:)

Thanks for the reply.....so.if I understand well, to put it in practical terms, if I set AM=15 in my cfg or not put anything at all, on a 4 core CPU it makes no difference....right ?

Yes the sim operates the same.

I re-installed v3.4 from the scrath, added FTG/FTV/OpenLC EU/HD Trees instead of good ol' UTX/GE3PRO combo and here are my observation. I use Very Dense Vegetation and Dense Building Autogen, LOD = High, TML=2048. FTV settings = same as Rob's per his Guide

1. Overall, there is slight increase in VAS comparing with UTX/GE3PRO, however the visuals are much better now.

2. Vector is a true killer, but it does really shines with all Options set to ON and in less dense areas.

3. What I have noticed for the first time, that FS2Crew on both NGX/T7 swallows between 250-400 Mb depending on its stage (idle or active) and bleeding VAS like a hell during the flight (all these times I blamed P3D native VAS poor management for that). Yesterday I did FT EHAM - FT EKCH flight with NGX and FS2Crew OFF I had truly stable 900-1000 VAS leftover during the entire flight. Plus - EHAM's weather yesterday was total hell, AS2016 was quite busy on the background. Therefore, for the first time since 2006 (when the first FS2Crew was released for LDS767) I have to put it away to my biggest regret in order to give more room for nicer visuals.

...and I forgot to add - I use 100% custom made AI Traffic with TFS/FSP/FAIB/AIG/CDAI models and textures from AIG fan groups. EHAM is typically packed with ~150 AI planes. Nicer 35FPS from NGX/T7 anyway :-)

Interesting find because FS2Crew does not work for me on new install no idea why but been flying without it and enjoyed the more work load.

Fs2Crew is not something people will normally think to add to they usage. So great find. If you can fly FT EHAM - FT EKCH with the NGX-777 you can fly anywhere :)

Well, some people cannot fly with FS2Crew. I usually didn't buy a complex plane before it has FS2Crew ready. Not a single flight for me without FS2Crew since 2006 until yesterday (*)

(*) actually now it feels more relaxed and i have more time to look around :-) Strange forgotten feeling

Same here. Even though I really loved FS2Crew, recently I prefer flying without it. I have done so many flights in the NGX that I really don't need the co-pilot anymore. And flights are much quicker because I can setup the aircraft faster by myself than with FS2Crew... I'm currently getting more into the 777 with the Airline2Sim Cadet training and I also disabled FS2Crew there...

Interesting about the FSCrew VAS usage. I have had a couple errors with it anyways. I've uninstalled it as well. I can use that VAS somewhere else for sure!

You could have a look at Multi Crew Experience as an alternative to FS2Crew. The speech engine of MCE runs outside the simulator so there is no significant VAS usage by MCE.
