I don't understand your question, and I don't have the plane, but it's basically the default G1000 with some modifications, so you won't be able to add custom waypoints or lat/longs

In the marketing blurb they will say:  Tested by real pilots etc
but the actual product falls short... this is not nitpicking IMHO

Well said Bert, absolutely. And another thing we should all keep in mind is that 'tested' does not equal 'approved'. The developer may invite a real pilot to test it, he or she won't like it but it's still 'tested by a real pilot'. In reality this marketing play on words means zero.

Everyone, I suggest you gather your bugs and suggestion and send them to Carenado. They are working on an update to v1.1 right now.

Great idea, do you think we should send them paypal or bank details so they can pay us for being their beta testers?

IMHO, if this aircraft and many other Carenado products cost as much as a PMDG product or more, then I could agree, every system better be working perfectly and they better spend a long time beta testing before release.  But it is only $37 and it will someday be on sale for maybe 50% off (I do not think PMDG puts their stuff on sale).  It is a nice looking model and you can tell your family how nice the model looks and show them around the cockpit and passenger compartments.  They will be overwhelmed with how nice the VC looks, the passenger compartments looking almost real, and the exterior textures looking awesome!  "Hey!  Start it up for me.  Oh wow!  The engines sound great!"

Yes, but there's a fundamental difference in the product not having, say, as indepth systems or high quality as other developers and when they charge money for a released aircraft that has mistakes all over it. We can expect and live with it when we spend $37 for medium quality product that doesn't have all the switches actually doing something like PMDG or even Eaglesoft. But to claim something and then deliver something else where ridiculously basic things are wrong as if tested like other stated in 10 minutes while watching Netflix, that's not fair.

The FSX AIRAC database has been updated to AIRAC 1701 with all the new info now available in the flight planner.

How well does this download work with your G1000? Per the included documentation it can create some issues for inputting flight plans and viewing them on the G1000 map (which is based on the default gps). Also it is pretty much primarily for European simmers. If what I read is correct, it should be avoided by those of us in the US. Def the type of product i think Microsoft or even Lockheed should have continued updating....But thats why we have Navigraph :)

Im also happy the Meridian is finally here. Too bad it couldn't have been a M500 like originally stated. Real working Red TOGA and Blue level off buttons would have been awesome.... Not to mention an included Aspen standby gauge that would allow F1's Aspen gauge integration...That would have been sweet!

Best to take a deep breath and move on.  Let people that enjoy them do it in peace.  Wait for a new developer.

Eh, you're probably right Gregg..

I climbed off the Carenado bandwagon about a year ago.   Their aircraft continue to look more and more attractive,  yet it has lost all of the appeal it once had.  People demand more now.  Much more.

You only have two choices, it can be done quickly and incomplete, Carenado or it will take many, many years but be complete and correct, ESDG and MilViz.

So now who is going to shoehorn in the GTN750 into this thing so it works better?

As someone once put it, "You can have it quick, you can have it right, or you can have it cheap. Pick any two..."

True...but it would do us all a service if they'd offer a steam option like Alabeo did.  Add the TBM to that too.

We do not know how long Carenado spent on development and testing before release.  I think many are assuming it's not very long but, for all we know, it could have started five years ago.  If there are deficiencies/issues with the G1000 or switches, perhaps the techs have no idea whatsoever how to program it to make it work exactly (and I emphasize 'exactly') like the real world.  Or, and more likely, it is impossible to program a perfect real-world G1000 for flight simulation.  Perhaps.

JYW, how does the engine sound.  Is it unique at all?

Not their best if I'm honest.  The engine sounds are better on the outside than on the inside.  I'm currenty messing around with replacing the engine sounds with some of those from their PC-12 (same engine but more powerful), which were better IMHO....

I'm hoping that a *reputable* add-on sound pack will be released for it.

Their G1000 is really an imposition!

I bought several of their releases with this glass cockpit in the past. I really tried to like it, as I enjoy some of their flight models and their visual work is just outstandingly good.

But the only way for me to enjoy their glass planes, is to make use of the fantastic mods by the talented people here on AVSIM!

The whole flight plan setup with their G1000 is inconsistent and full of bugs!

That being said, the modded (and therefore with GTN750 equipped) glass cockpit aircraft, like the Phenom 300, the Hawker and CJ2, are highly enjoyable and very immersive!

We do not know how long Carenado spent on development and testing before release.  I think many are assuming it's not very long but, for all we know, it could have started five years ago...

Actually, you can pop open their .cab files, start scrolling through the dates of when certain elements were added compare common parts to other Carando G1000 products and start to pick up on a timeline. Also look at dates when common textures were made, FDE was finalized, .air file. It all paints a picture of about how long the project was in development.

I must confess that I enjoy Carenado's "old school" aircraft aka "steam gauges" much more than their glass cockpit aircraft for reasons already posted. I know their older steam gauged aircraft are still not perfect but I enjoy them. The ONLY reason why I have purchased some of their glass cockpit aircraft is due to the very talented folks in this sim community that have provided us with the GTN750 mods. To them I take off my hat and say a very grateful thank you! Because of the "Mod Squad" and others, I can have the best of both worlds without dealing with buggy autopilots and Carenado Navgraph extension. I do not have the expertise to figure out "work arounds" to make their FMS work somewhat properly nor the patience as an aging "Baby Boomer" :)
