December 27, 200520 yr okay, I'll try loading with fuel in all tanks, although that doesn't seem correct on a short flight.
December 27, 200520 yr Moderator >okay, I'll try loading with fuel in all tanks, although that>doesn't seem correct on a short flight. It has nothing to do with "correct" at all. It is one of the limitations of FS9 in that the fuel system is a bit wonky. It simply doesn't "like" completely empty tanks... :-violin Note carefully that I wrote "SOME FUEL," meaning at least a gallon or so... ;) Fr. December 27, 200520 yr Well that worked in getting #1 started. Bad news is I lost it shortly after takeoff :-mad I'll try it again with more fuel in the center tanks. Most frustrating.
February 9, 200620 yr I am also having trouble with the auto throttle. Upon engaging after takeoff, it seems to only want to control engines #3 #4, where 1 and 2 are still under my manual control. I also am a little weirded out by the way fuel feeds- I receive a caution when the crossfeed is not on. I am not familiar with the fuel system, possibly this is the way the real 747 feeds. The FMC is great, except that it will not accept normal values (in kilos just to note) for the empty weight and gross weight. My BOW plus payload was around 176,200kg, and the 176.2 entered wouldn't be accepted...Anyone else having the autothrottle and FMC problem? February 11, 200620 yr Well I downloaded, installed and gave it a try but removed it becauseof horrible framerates on a machine that normally can handle anything I throw at it. If anyone has any idea why this is the ONLY aircraft on my system thatcauses framerates to run in the single digits I'd love to hear from you. I normally run with everything maxed with Active Sky, FSNav, and RC4 with great framerates in anything I fly...payware as well as defaultand freeware. August 30, 200619 yr I think the panel is awsome, so is the Vcabin. But when I engage the autopilot (i put the panel on a POSKY 744) it throws me into loops by maxing ou the trim....the LNAV works and so does everything else, its just whatever controls the VNAV maxes out the trim and i dont know if it oculd be that its the FMC or what but i even copied the IFLY autopilot section from the cfg into the POSKY 744 cfg...HELP is much appreciated.Mike :-hmmm
September 1, 200619 yr Service Pack 2 is out!!!I really had only two issues with this bird, neither of which was too important to me personally as there were work arounds. One was Sids and Stars which are addressed with this fix. Can't wait to check it out.The other is that one cannot import flight plans from fsnav. Of course this may be addressed too, but I have not checked it out yet.IMHO iFly has raised the bar for freeware aircraft and I am very grateful to all that contributed this effort. I was surprised that it got no more press (attention in these forums) than it did, and am also a little surprised that this attention is raising its head again now as so few showed interest earlier. With the new service pack, I hope it catches on with more of the community (PMDG or no PMDG). I also feel that it should be a prime contribution for any applicable award.Happy flying:RTH1585368CFIEdit:One thing I would add although no biggy for such fine freeware. In a post some time ago someone implied that a paintkit was in the works in the near future (at that time). I Sure would like to see a few more repaints, particularly for domestic USA.
September 1, 200619 yr >Happy flying:>RTH>1585368CFI>RTH why do you put your CFI number out in public? Brendan R, KDXR PHNL KJFK Type rated: SF34 / DH8 (Q400) / DC9 717 MD-88/ B767 (CFI/II/MEI/ATP) Majestic Software Q400 Beta Team / Pilot Consultant / Twitter @violinvelocity
September 1, 200619 yr Why not? Just as an identification. It is long retired now, but I am still proud of it and it implies that I possibly am not a total dummy in FS (although it occasionally knocks me down a few rungs).Maybe you know something I don't know relative to identification theft. If so, let me know and I will cease and desist. Thanks for the reply and let me know.Respectfully:RTH
September 1, 200619 yr Note quite and I wish it reached that far. Afraid it only applies to the real world.RTH
