I'm having such a nice time with finely tuned V3.4 that I don't want to hear about V4 until spring 2018.

You and me both brother.

Runs perfect.

V3.4 is running great on my system.

For me P3D v4 is only interesting when it puts more load on the GPU , makes optimal use of multicore and adds some visual improvements...

Me too, couldn't ask for anything better. never had an OOM either. I see no advantage of 64 bit other than lowering my bank balance.

Theres a larger stake here. Money. Its an opportunity to revive sales. Lets just hope they are very reasonable about it instead of greedy and in the 10-20$ upgrade fee range.

I'm sorry to shatter your hopes, but this is not EA Games or Rockstar.

Anything much beyond that would definitely inhibit the migration.

No it won't.

10 or 20 bucks for a 64bit upgrade with revamped lightning and other improvements?? Come on...I would pay 4 digits for that. Of course, my willingness to pay is borderline absurd when it comes to simulators.

I would guesstimate pricetag of last p3d +10-15% if it will occur that scenery is compatible.

Nevertheless - we've finally got to interesting period of time where we will have choice. In 1 year XP11 should be a perfect product, with some interesting addons in development and P3D will probably offer great things too. Can't wait and still hope PMDG did not forget their promise.

I had one OOM ever, when I just had my current system. But that was because I tried to do a flight with all sliders maxed in the Orbx PNW Seattle area with an A2A Cessna. So I don't really care about 64 bit either, but I am very much looking forward to that new lighting engine. Now, flying towards a low sun does not look very realistic. I hope a new lighting engine will blind you with a low sun, just as it would it real life. I love the lighting in Project Cars, so I hope it will resemble that.

Whenever it's released, the transition period would be required anyway since there will be a major technical change. Perhaps ORBX and PMDG would got betas and SDKs, but the majority of the developers will face the reality on a day of the release only, I would say 3-6 months after the initial release I will start looking in the direction of V4.

AND....8800k will be shipping around NY2018! Just in time if all work well :-)

Does this mean buildings and trees can finally be the right scale and not look like "model train world"?

How about seeing lights further in the distance by default, as one would in real life flying?
