Baby steps.  I am making it so the big picture only shows up on the home page so we have more real estate again.  Also trying to reduce some of the white space.

Attachments are turned back on.  We had to limit the file types, and accidentally turned them off all together.

Confirmed:  They work now.

Wow, some great work done so far. This is feeling like Avsim again. 

 

I like the AVSIM Logo and cloud graphic too. Expresses essence of flight nicely.

Much better than that oversized screen grab of the 747. We aren't ALL tube jockeys.

 

I've also just seen we have Recent Topics back on the front page. Excellent! Now all we need is Topics I've Posted In on there as well and we're good to go. Well done for all the hard work obviously going on behind the scenes.

now it looks much much better!  thank you for making avsim great again(avsim is always great)

The directions for posting screenshots in the Screenshot forum has not changed.  Elaine's pinned topic in the screenshot forum shows how.  If you use the attach files option in a post, your images may not last very long as the rules state you must link the image from another site like OXz.

Tom's tribute should be top right. Are you seeing it somewhere else?  If so, are you on mobile maybe? Or computer?

It was due to the default text size, I suspect - Tom's pic came up at the bottom of the page for some reason.

I'm using Firefox - with the 'Ctrl/+' util for resizing. It works with all my other sites - just about the right size. But not here.

I resized to 100%, but couldn't read the page - seems ok now.

I'm using Win 7 - 2560 x 1024 on a Dell 3011 monitor. I usually have the default at 150% for my forums - but Avsim displays a much

larger font currently, so requires 'Ctrl/-' to back off now when I visit Avsim.

My only criticism at the moment is the size of the display page when compared with the 'blue' page background. To give you

some idea of what I'm seeing - the white page is some 4" smaller than my screen -  cannot change that - a 'Ctrl / +' merely

changes the text size, not the page. So in order to read your text I find that I then lose any text formatting by zooming in.

No problems before, but now your text is much smaller if I require a full page view. Hence the zoom requirement. (I also find now that I must close my 'favourites' menu to view your screen comfortably. That wasn't a requirement previously.

No doubt it will be sorted eventually.

Thanks for the hard work getting things back running, looking much better.

 

As a follow up to my earlier point about the mobile site, it seems that the menu appears in the right place now (on the visible section of the screen!), however the menu text is now dark grey on slightly darker grey (except for the arrows, which are white).  Whilst it works, it would save everyone's eyesight if you could add tweaking that text colour to the list...
