this new forum style is really awfull. no idea wht the reason for this is. Totaly unclear and confusing

Hate to be negative, but the mobile view is pretty bad.  Unlike most sites where I click the three lines and the menu just appears on screen, here the view just dimmed and it was only by accident I realised the page had been expanded and I had to scroll off the page to find it.

Not a fan of the new forum at all...and the mobile view is even worse. 

Bottom line.....................I think AVSIM made a step backward.  Was perfectly comfortable with the previous system.  This new site looks weak and watery.

They use this format over at the x-plane org forums and I can't get used to it. It's horrible.

My new home page - has everything I need and it's growing on me...

PLUS - I can just PASTE images into the dialog box !!!

[oops - lol - I stand corrected - the image doesn't appear]

I like the look of it, but then again I am pretty new and was not totally immersed in the old format to have enough time to get used to where everything is and what my favorite areas are. My old eyes can see everything better and the posts are clean, just looks better to my eye. But I will defer to the folks who have been here a lot longer than me.

It will take time to adjust for everyone, including us.  We needed the support (from IPB) and the functions that were moving to the new version of IPB.  We get it, it's rough right now.  Please bear in mind there are many more changes we need to make, and only two people to do them in our free time.  I'm about to leave for work, but will get to all of this afterwards and over the weekend.  

 

Also, the question based forums are being changed to discussion forums.  Not sure how that happened in the conversion, but I agree - it's annoying.

You should have seen how many man hours it took to even get it the way it looks right now.  The new IPB layout was a shock to us too, but we are slowly making it look familiar again.  Thanks for being patient.  If you have specific feedback, it would be appreciated.  "It sucks" makes me want to scroll right past what you're saying (just a thought).

Agreed.  Mobile view is on the list for improvements.  Thanks for the feedback.
