Aerosoft CRJ 10% off - to be released Jun 22

Whats the source for the release date?  This comes up all the time because its on their store and the date is on there because the website needs some sort of date. Its there as a placeholder and means nothing in reality. Read through the CRJ thread. Its come up numerous times.

Not vaporware at all. They are quite close. But AS is not going to release something that has numerous bugs. I rather have it sooner than later, but surely it doesnt make sense to release it bug filled only to field numerous complaints and have a bad first impression on it.

I think it is just the placeholder for the online store. But, Mathijs said just today on the forum that they have expanded the Beta team, and made getting this software out the door the number one priority.

But, the whole point of beta testing is to find and correct bugs - so I am sure there still remains work to be done. But I do believe that "the day" is getting pretty close.

I'm not concerned about the Navigraph  issue. Other Aerosoft airliners support Navigraph  despite NavData Pro being an Aerosoft  product. Besides, the CRJ  will come with the most recent  NavData Pro AIRAC  version installed. It just won't get updated each month unless one has a subscription. At that point the issue with Navigraph  compatibility  will be worked out. Of course, that may be a few months after the CRJ  release in 2027.

Optimistic much? :)

I'm just going to confirm... it is Navigraph compatible - even in the Beta.

Best wishes.

Where is the release date coming from?  I don't see it on Aerosoft's forums.  I could be wrong, but I can't imagine they are giving out another expected released date since they have burned themselves many times doing so.  I do believe it's coming soon, but am curious where the date came from.

It came from the store.  To be honest, I haven't been following the CRJ much so I wasn't aware, as someone pointed out above, that it's a date that changes.  Still, signs are pointing in the right direction.  The manual was released a few days ago.  There are new videos out.  Expanding the beta means they'd find issues faster.  Hopefully, not too many hard ones to fix.  I guess I'll just keep chewing my gum and wait.

No worries Gregg!  Just didn't want people getting too excited yet, although I do think you are right and it won't be to much longer.

Its release date has changed 3 or 4 times in the last year!

Signs were also pointing in the right direction in 2015 when Mathijs was at T-9 days on his countdown. Tbh until it's actually released I'm going to assume they'll run into another problem and delay it another 2 years right before it goes live.

Hello;

I think its listed under Digital Aviation CRJ 700/900,thats listed under add-ons on the Navigraph FMS Data.

Thanks;

Mark

For anyone interested in this, it's for the boxed version, not the digital download.

Aerosoft typically charge more for the boxed version anyway, so the 10% discount is likely to cover that difference.

Wow. I've never seen a thread with so much false information.

Aerosoft have never said that Navigraph won't be support. That's just a downright falsification on the OP's part. Secondly, they haven't given us a release date. At all. So the date mentioned by the OP is also fabrication, probably based on a shop placeholder or something. And thirdly, they haven't delayed their release date, as they have never given us one in the first place. Yes, it's taking a long time, but that's life. Get over it.

Best regards,

Neal McCullough

They do give a release date on their store page which has changed about 3 or 4 times

The current date given is 22 June 2017

As I said elsewhere in the thread, all of the info came from the store.  I don't follow the CRJ that much so, when I found out about the 10% discount I went to the page and saw it.  It says it requires NavDataPro and makes no mention of Navigraph so I just believed them.  (Someone above pointed out that, somewhere in the biggest-thread-I've-seen-in-my-life, they said they would be supporting Navigraph.)  I also noticed the release date on the page so I believed that too but I took it as a goal even though it says release date.  So, intentional falsehoods?...no...only the info provided on the page.  It would be nice if they'd correct the page so that people like me that don't follow it much don't repeat it.  It's been an unusual product and, I'd imagine at this point, many people don't want to hear anything about it until it's released.  Mum's the word until then.

Yes, according to the webpage, which I linked here: http://www.aerosoft.com/us/fsxp3d/pre-order/1638/crj-700/900-x?c=368 , it does indeed show that the product WILL be released on June 22nd, but considering the delays that have occurred, in the past, this is a classic case of the boy who cried wolf, and I'm not holding my breath.  What gets me is that this is a pre-order item.  Who, in their right mind would pre-order digital software?  There are people out there, that take everything they read literally, and as such, are going to think that they need to get this now before they run out.  I also understand there will be disc versions, but again, I seriously doubt the world will end if you can't get your hands on physical media, as if this will be a limited run.

I've questioned the business practices of AS before, with regards to pre-orders on items that still don't have a hard release date, and of course, met with resistance, but the bottom line is that it'll be out when it comes out and no amount of crying and whining is going to make the release date come any quicker.  I am one who had looked forward to this aircraft, back when it was first announced and I loved the screenshots they posted of its progress, but as I understand it, a third party developer is putting this bird together and there have been a litany of issues along the way.  I can sympathize with the developer, since things happen, but I don't for AS.  They seem to be trying their hardest to market this aircraft as much as possible, so they keep people interested and along the way, grab a bit more money from those who think they need to pre-order.  I feel sorry for those who were under the impression that a pre-order guaranteed them a copy, and since AS has their money, I don't blame them for being upset.

Btw, if anyone looks at the page, can they tell me what the asterisk is for, next to the cost?  I don't see anywhere else on the page, where it is defined.
