Seriously considering P3Dv4 once all my favorite add ons are ported and working. I have a GTX970 but do have money to upgrade a simple component. Although I'd imagine my system is pretty balanced between CPU and graphics card. Certainly won't worry about system RAM Not sure - I have SLI 980Tis still. The SLI is largely irrelevant to all of the sims to my knowledge (crushes BF tho ), but a 980Ti does rather well with it. Better than v3. 2 hours ago, Brit said: Can you have both v3 and v4 installed at same time? Yep. I have both installed on a single SSD, and our v4-compatible products will treat it like FSX and FSX:SE - both can coexist, should you choose that option. Kyle Rodgers

I immediately uninstall P3D V3 and everything from FSX:SE. Will go straight for V4. Cheers, Hoang Le Same here. I just hope AS16 won't take too long.

Aside from the RealAir Duke, everything else I'm using will be compatible with P3Dv4. Hopefully someone will release a nice high flying fast twin to replace the Duke. I'd hate to part with that bird though. May 29, 20179 yr Commercial Member For clarification, the way we built the installer, you will need to remove the v3 copy before the installer will offer to install it into the new sim. Otherwise, it assumes you want to repair the existing product. The can coexist, however. Also, if you only have v3, the new installer will be fine with that, too. Kyle Rodgers

I don't understand what you're saying Kyle. One the one hand you say we have to remove our 747's. Then you say if we only have v3 it will be okay. All I own is the QOTSII, so do I have to uninstall it? I have the NGX but it's for FSX and I already uninstalled it a while ago because I never use FSX anymore. I'm on P3D 3.4. Would you mind elaborating on this a little more? Thanks Jack Sawyer

They can. If you have P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 for some reason, you can have the 744 in both sims and they will both work independently. I later clarified that, in order to install into P3Dv4, if you currently have it installed in P3Dv3, you will have to remove the version currently installed before the installer will offer to install it into one/both. Otherwise, the installer will see your current (P3Dv3) installation and assume that you want to repair it (and not add another copy into P3Dv4). If you have P3Dv3(.whatever), unless you plan on upgrading, this entire thread isn't relevant to you...to include what I wrote earlier. Why would you have to randomly uninstall an aircraft to use an installer that isn't even meant for the version of P3D that you aren't using? Kyle Rodgers
May 29, 20179 yr Kyle, I'm sorry if you misunderstood my meaning, nowhere did I say there was a contradiction. Ok, I will have P3D 3.4 on one SSD, and P3D V4 on another. Presently QOTSII is installed in P3D v 3.4. So I do currently have but installed in 3.4 and will most certainly want the best aircraft on the market, bar none, in V4, I hardly ever use it now because of VAS limitations. I would say this thread is relevant because I do plan on having it in both sims. So, when I buy it tomorrow, or midnight tonight, how do I uninstall the 747? Just use the uninstaller in Start/Programs? Then what? Do I re-download it? I have it saved on a HD. Do I run the saved installer? Then what happens? Will it give me the chance to install it in both? Sorry if I caused any problems Kyle, it was not my intention, I'm not as astute as others on this forum, I read lots of posts and I'm nowhere near as good a you guys. I just want to fly the 747 without VAS problems, finally. Jack Sawyer

Running the one saved on your computer would do no good, as it won't have been updated. 8 minutes ago, Jack_Sawyer said: Then what happens? Will it give me the chance to install it in both? As I've mentioned in both posts, yes. Kyle Rodgers
May 29, 20179 yr I see, I didn't think of that, yes, I will have to re-download it, show me being a dunce! Thanks for clarifying things Kyle! I appreciate it. And since I bought the NGX for FSX, I know I'll have to re-buy it for V4 and I will, in a month or so as I loved that plane. I may even get the 777 too! Jack Sawyer
