June 13, 20178 yr Hi all, My flying I do above Europe. I own FTX HD Trees. Just did a flight at 2500-3500 ft over the Netherlands and I have to say that I find the default trees very good looking from this altitude. Anyone else tried them and how do you think they stand against the default trees ? June 13, 20178 yr Interesting point. I installed my V4 and immediately grabbed the new Central and installed all the regions and HD trees. I found out I had to shut off the dynamic trees in V4 to see the HD trees, so I did that. Bottom line is I've never seen the default trees...too funny. Anybody post a screenies of default vs HD would be helpful. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
June 13, 20178 yr So how do you turn off dynamic trees? Is that the "Dynamic 3d Autogen Vegetation" checkbox? Scott KGPI

June 13, 20178 yr I like the default trees. So I guess the question is should I get FTX HD tress? This is a Mexican standoff! Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb
June 13, 20178 yr Author I made a backup of the default trees and installed the FTX HD trees. Indeed they look better. To minimize the framerate impact I resized them in half and sharpened them with Painshop. Dynamic trees I have turned of as a jetflying, just like Dynamic reflections . Dynamic lighting I will test tomorrow as I am going to update Nice from Justsim. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
June 13, 20178 yr As far as I know HD Trees are already optimized and should have no impact on fps Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR

June 13, 20178 yr Author The smaller the Texture in size the less taxing on the system . In this case AG trees one notch more to the right. Or a wider LOD. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

June 13, 20178 yr I don't like the new trees because they're too lime-green and do not blend in very well in a FTX Global installation. The color of the FTX trees is much better and realistic. Regards, Sebastian
June 13, 20178 yr I used FTC HD trees on v3, they indeed look much better and I even got few more frames. Not much, but enough to convince me to keep them. 2 hours ago, GSalden said: Painshop. Never heard of this one. FreeMeshX Global & P3D Tweak Assistant (PTA) plus a bit of orbx magic
June 14, 20178 yr From time when HDTrees was released, I can't imaginme fly without them. December 12, 20178 yr I have P3Dv4,1, Orbx Global, OpenLC and several regions. Basically I only fly in Orbx OpenLC or a region. Everything is up to date on FTX Central. How do I know what trees I have. In summer season the trees I have now have a lime-green colour. What do I need to do to install the HD trees? Thanks.
