March 26, 200620 yr Hi,I am using the MS Sidewinder FF with FS-Force and a lot of button programming via FSUIPC.Regards,Hugo
March 26, 200620 yr Commercial Member I second Bob Scotts brief explanation of PFC products, and I have been a user for about 4 years without any problems what soever. The customer support is great if you ever do need it.Like any well oiled machine, you need to replace the springs ever so often. I change mine every six months due to high usage, which is ok.http://groups.msn.com/DehavillandDash8Q400...hoto&PhotoID=86The only downside is the yoke takes away for Helo and combat operations, but a joystick replacement does the job wellYou can visit the PFC website at www.flypfc.com for more info. March 26, 200620 yr HiI personally use the keyboard and at the mo and i'm very happy using it although sometimes it can be frustrating with certain aircraft because they will feel a bit unresponsive and slow i will get a joystick someday i seen one in a computer shop near me that was quite cheap but when i went back a couple of days later it had been sold i think it was a logitech and it had a throttle i was so diapointed it was
March 26, 200620 yr 25 pounds sounds expensive to me for a cheap joystick, though perhaps in line for Logitech (paying for the "name"). I use and am happy with Ch Yoke and pedals ($204 total free shipping for both from amazon). For trips when I fly, I picked up a cheapo joystick from Best Buy for $19.99 with 8 way hat and throttle and 6 more buttons that works fine for me as well.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
March 28, 200620 yr Hi,I went to the PFC website and I was very impressed/excited by their products. But as soon as I saw the price list, I lost my enthusiasm. To get the jetliner yoke, the rudder pedals, and the throt quad, it would cost me over $2000 US dollars. Surely the difference between CH and PFC isn't $1800 US bucks. Surely CH could improve on their products while maintaining affordable prices? Tristan
March 28, 200620 yr I'm using a CH Flightstick :) 100% reliable since I got it in November 2000 :DBefore then I was using much cheaper joysticks ..... I broke all five :(. Cheap joysticks aren't worth the hassle ... most of them are rubbish.I control the rudder using the cursor keys :-lol"If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter - and therefore, unsafe." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/DarrenA300/unsure.gif Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
March 28, 200620 yr >Surely the difference between CH and PFC isn't $1800 US bucks. Surely it is. High quality, for those who value it, doesn't usually come cheap. The PFC jetliner floor column yoke is all-metal, heavy duty construction, tight tolerances, high-quality bearings, the list goes on. It feels like an airplane yoke...the CH feels like a plastic gaming device...which it is, and there's no shame in that. It's the same with lots of other equipment. My Nikon 70-200mm camera lense (an f2.8 ED AF-S VR) at $1600 seems pretty pricey alongside the $350 Nikon 80-200mm lense (F3.5-4.5 AF), but not to someone who takes their photography seriously. Both will take a nice pic, given enough time and light. But for a quick, perfectly-focused shot in dim light from a moving vehicle, the extra $1250 invested in a fast lense with a lightning-fast ultrasonic autofocus motor and vibration reduction makes all the difference in the world. I don't expect the average weekend happy-snapper to understand, but a skilled photographer will.Whether the extra quality is worth paying the nonlinear leap in price is a personal decision.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
March 29, 200620 yr I use an 8 year old Saitek Cyborg 3-D joystick that has given continuous and completely trouble-free service on nearly a daily basis. I've tried pc yokes, pedals and throttle setups at the flight school where I teach but for me the Saitek joystick with the twist handle provides excellent control and the physical movements of manipulating the stick translate very very well to real world flying. (The only thing that is better is the 10 year old Frasca 131 simulator the school uses.) I've discovered a lot about sound, smooth flying technique just by thoughtful use of the joystick. And at $40 it's incredibly inexpensive compared to other pc flight controls.
March 29, 200620 yr I agree with Bob, it costs to get High quality. Attached is a picture of my setup which is all PFC. I have had the yoke and rudder pedals for four years and the jet console for one and a half years. Note the throttles are duplicate of the 737NG, with reverser levers, TOGA and A/T disconnect, spoiler and flap levers. I have also modified the rudder pedals to include proportional braking. I have had no problems at all. The throttles can be interchanged with other PFC throttle units. The MCP is the Aerosoft 747MCP.Tom
