So Long

I have had FS installed on my computer in all it's glorious editions since FS95. I know there are people on this forum that can claim a longer FS lineage than I...but I think I have been around long enough to be called a veteran user of this sim. For nine years I was toatlly hooked on the sim, to my astonishment my FS2004 file directory was over 30 gigs. Over the last year and a half I find myself simming less and less. Family commitments and other interests have cut into my simming time. Often I start a flight with all the bells and whistles...you know...download the FP...set up the aircraft...perform the checks...taxi out...climb to cruise altitude...then get tired and go to bed!! So I have deleted everything FS related from my computer...yes everyhting...!!! In the past I was an active member on this forum...now I am just a lurker...I want to send a "Thank You" to everyone that has posted on this forum with fixes and tweaks...I have used the search function to great effect...and my FS was humming along with the best info gleaned from this forum. I am deploying (again) for another year...and I have deleted FS for the first time from my computer in over 10 years...(I feel kind of naked) I figure by the time I get back, the new version of FS will be out and I can install from scratch, without any trying to "upgrade" anyhting. I am hoping to have my PPL in the next year and a half...I know that simming and the info I have received from this forum will help me a great deal in attaining that goal. In the meantime...it's been a pleasure...Happy simming,Scott

Scott,I don't know what service you're in, nor does it matter. I appreciate what you do and I think about you and every service person everyday. I was a Marine. You know how we are. We never stop being Marines. So, I offer Semper Fidelis to you always.Best regardsJan1,KINDWhen I push the button and it works, I'm happy:-)

Scott, you will be included in my prayers for the brave men and women who fight to preserve the freedoms we enjoy in this great country. I will be looking forward to your safe return.Dewey

Taking a break is good. Frankly Im getting a bit bored too. Think it comes from the fact that FS9 is getting a bit long in the tooth. The "been there done that factor" is in play.God bless on your deployment. Would like to know more about what unit you are in.Best to you and your family.Eric
