Majestic Q400: full simulation?

Featured Replies

I have the Pilot version. For me, I did not see the need for failures etc personally. For this I am glad they have the different versions.

I bought the Pro version because I may not use any of the extra's it offers but because I simply like to fly in a plane that's as real as possible so that whenever I actually do want to use something I know I can! It just feels more real, even if I don't use any of it.

Having said that: I do think I will be using the HUD, specially since I planned on flying real world flights in real time in Norway and I think it will come in very handy during certain approaches. I also think I may be using TCS (to change AP settings without touching the AP but by using the actual controls).

FMS ETP/NPR and ARINC WEATHER are simply nice to have, to make things more complete and real. And by the time I know the Q400 inside out I will probably enable failures too, for the first time in my life. For a brief moment I even considered the Training version but the extra money (quite a bit) wasn't worth it because to have RAIM just for realism is a bit over the top (specially in a sim with perfect GPS) and well, the traning manual... nah, not worth 60 bucks.

Anyway, imho the Pro version is certainly worth the extra dollars: 20 bucks isn't too much for that.

BTW I am not getting that Airliner2Sim stuff: I watched the demo and intro of it again and 1. too much chatting, 2. I can hardly hear what the guy is saying: his articulation leaves a lot to be desired (for me at least) and 3. there seems to be no index whatsoever so if you want to go back to something interesting you heard while watching there is no way to find that info again unless you watch the video's again. I don't think I can memorize 9 hours of chat so... I also have to say that the SystemDescription.pdf I found among the docs that come with the Q400 seems very, very detailed and offers everything you want to know... and you can SEARCH through it.  So I'll save my 60 euro's.

You should think like that on all your aircraft to come J

I just bought the Pro version for $47.  Is that a good deal?  I don't really know much about the plane, but everyone seems to love it.

Full price or upgrade?

Well... :ohmy::huh::angry: I bought the plane at that very same site two days ago. I won't repeat the words that came to my mind when I checked your link. Seriously. I absolutely hate when this happens. I even thought about buying the plane the coming weekend because I was busy but I wanted to check the manuals and bought it anyway. Big bummer. Sigh. Darned. Etcetera. This will take away a bit of the joy during my next flight. Well, that's life.

FSPilotshop (where I bought my original 32-bit Pilot addition) is offering me an upgrade to 64-bit Pro for $53.95.

So $47 for a 64-bit Pro, even though from another shop? Absolutely! Downloading as we speak.

Well, at least a few happy people here...

If I could have bought it for this price I might have bought the Airliner2Sim for it anyway... But well, it's a GREAT plane so I won't let 25 bucks spoil it for me.

Let me know how you get on with what I sent you, I upgrade to the v4 version but not done a flight yet, so class it as a beta.

Cannot stop flying the FSL and have 4 flights planned before I even look at the Q400.

I just bought it for €42. Absolute bargain as far as I can make out.

Best regards,

That's a terrific price for a fantastic aircraft add-on.
