Great idea, get out of the cockpit and interact w/ some live people playing golf!  Only problem is he'd soon find himself looking for pickup games w/ strangers since all it would take is two holes playing with him for you to realize you wouldn't want to do that again!    Then again w/ feedback in real time he might actually learn some social graces.

Hi Dave,  it was not even the problem that bothered me,  or even that it did not make the cut to be fixed... it was the it’s not a big deal attitude...  nobody likes to hear that their problem is not a big deal,  and to be told that they are dealing with more important issues only to look at the release notes and see things relating to the exterior app sound was fixed but not a issue that happens while flying.

i spent 15 years working in car dealer service departments and dealt with lots of angry people and a lot of times the anger was amplified by the customer feeling like nobody cared about his or her problem.

with that said it’s a wonderful plane and whoever coded it is very talented and I would certainly recommend the product. I was just not happy with the way my situation was handled.

I understand.  Thanks for making such an even-handed, well written,  and constructive comment.  We need more of that and less than "the other" in our community.

PM me the issue and I'll look into it.

Best wishes.

What, Shared Cockpit?  The capability of sharing the aircraft with another person.

Thank you DaveCT, sounds like a feature I would not be using.

Anyway I got the tiller working (is there a way to config taxiing with my rudder pedals?) and taxied around a little

No. The tiller can be used with the mouse or the aileron axis or the spoiler axis. You have to assign which one of the three you want to use in the Q400 control panel AND of course also within P3D itself. The mouse is default. I changed it to the spoiler (which is the advised option) and then assigned the rudder axis of my Logitech Extreme joystick to the spoiler in P3D (had to reverse it too). (I have rudder pedals so that axis wasn't used at all.) Works like a charm. Using the tiller with the mouse was er... interesting.

I was late home from work last night so I didn't get much time to try this out....but.....I was hitting over 30 FPS at FSDT KLAX on my fairly low end machine. That is just CRAZY! Really looking forward to putting this through it's paces over the weekend.

Best regards,

Let me know how you get on with what I sent you, I upgrade to the v4 version but not done a flight yet, so class it as a beta.

After giving the Sample tutorial a try (what a mess that is) and the Detailed tutorial (better but there are things missing) I gave your list a try and, together with what I learned from Aerofly FS2 and those two 'tutorials' the list was almost perfect! Worked great! Just two things were missing imho (CL full forward before taxi and the optional Bleeds off and on for take off), there was one error (Tank aux pumps on after landing should be off) and two double entries (things that were already done) but that's about it. Well, I will have to check the parking because a few more things should be turned off which aren't mentioned (recirc, bleeds, etc.). But other than that I could fly a perfect flight with your list, so thanks!

The fact that I screwed up the approach was only due to me not paying attention. And well, ProATC not working along after using a saved flight. (It's great using ProATC again btw: so easy to use, I love how it assigns SID and STAR etc. and that it has no obstrusive interface!)

O, btw, what I do love is how perfectly well the Q400 state is saved when you save a flight! When you get back to it everything is as it was! Absolutely EVERYTHING! I can't remember ever seeing a saved state being so good! (The only funny odd thing when you load a flight in mid air is the GPU you see for a short while LOL)

Anyway, hopefully I will be able to fly at least one flight without any stupid mistakes this weekend. I am getting close. Where I mostly screw up is with the speeds: I am used to the Airbus autothrottle and in the Q400 I let the speeds go up and down way too much.

BTW What is a bit of a pity is that ProATC has a mind off its own when it comes to descents: I wasn't really able to use VNAV. But after I reloaded the flight (had to do something else) and had to continue without ProATC VNAV worked perfectly fine: I like  how you have to set that up yourself. Although sometimes I can't select the waypoint I'd like to select. Must be me. But well, I just started flying this plane so I've got weeks and months of time to learn all the ins and outs of it! Looking forward to reading everything I can about this plane!

EDIT
I saw the Wideroe plane has the number LN-WDF in P3D so I searched for it and found a nice list of flights I can do in Norway. (https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/ln-wdf) It's really nice being able to do REAL flights now! I also use the cruise alt from Flightradar. Pity it doesn't show the exact route (with waypoints and all).

Talking about waypoints: I really like and love the FMS! It's different but setting up a plan and SID and STARs etc. is so easy! Very intuitive and logical imho. Yes, I really love this plane.

Great to hear,

J, PM me all the things you found, I will change them/ add anything  and tell me the airline you  use and I will change it to your preference.

Thanks for the offer, David, but I had already made my own version of the list (which fits on two sides of an A4) so all is good here.

Few questions (also posted on the Majestic forum but you guys are always so quick ):

I noticed that with the cold and dark state DC and AC Generators are On and so is the Main Bus Tie. Shouldn't they be off? Or are they always left on in real life?

The same goes for Packs on Auto and Bleeds on Min although I think that doesn't really matter.

Futhermore: all 5 screens are on too by default: same question here: shouldn't they be off? And while I am at it: how can I turn off the middle screen (ED)? I know where the controls are for the other four but I just can't find a knob for the middle one.

You can select manual TOD in the proatcx options. This way you chose when to start.

I will say that the Q400 is my favourite add-on ever. If I have one recommendation for you it would be to spring for the Airline2Sim training videos. They are done in such a fashion that the videos themselves are worth it as standalone even if you don't own the Q400. I learned more from those videos than any tutorial.

The training is done by Ben (owns airline2sim) and Josh (a previous 1st officer with Flybe on the Q400). The relaxed conversation style is very, very good. Highly highly recommended to get the most out of this fantastic add-on.

Thanks for the tip but as I said the demo’s I’ve seen didn’t convince me. A bit too much relaxed conversations imho. And I can’t understand half of what Josh is saying (as if he only pronounces the first half of some words). And it is impossible to find specific information back later on. Maybe if they have a sale one day I might look at it. Until then the System description pdf (I just love the pdf search function) and SmartCockpit are my best friends. (I haven’t found ANY video’s on YouTube that convinced me either: most YouTubers seem to have no clue what they are doing.)

Lol, well, by The accent josh has I would say he’s from the East Midlands. Maybe Leicester area.

As north Staffordshire lad by birth, I have no trouble understanding him 😄

shame you aren’t impressed. The videos are a gold mine of info with a lot of great stories and anecdotes thrown in from a guy with real world experience.
