AEROSOFT TWIN OTTER (TWOTTER)

I am thinking of buying an Aerosoft Twin Otter (aka twotter) for P3Dv2.5.  I need to know whether the model comes with a version (or two) using FAA renums (registration numbers).  Any other comments you might want to include about the model will be appreciated also.  Thanks

Dan, I purchased that model for FSX sometime ago and loved it. The sad part is that an X-Plane version is not available as I only use that platform now. I did purchase a Twin-Otter for XP but the realism does not match Aerosoft 's rendition especially in the sound department.

All the best for the New Year!

Thanks for the feedback JJ.  Does the Aerosoft model come with USA (FAA) markings?

I don’t have access to it right now but it does come with a variety of paint jobs/regs, and there’s also a lot of repaints available.  You might want to check the avsim library along with the aerosoft library to see what’s available.

Aerosoft has 99 repaints available for the Twin Otter extended on their download page. A number are USA "N" registrations. Oz also has a lot of repaints for the aircraft.

It's a worthy simulation. You can find out a fair bit of advanced info about it from this playlist on my YT channel. (Sorry I can't comment on the liveries. I never go outside, so it doesn't really matter :)

I'll add to the discussion the the Aerosoft Twin Otter is an absolute masterpiece. It is a very good simulation of the real aircraft, and has some lovely features built into it, especially the interactive checklist. The only real disappointment I have with this add-on is the sound which isn't 100%, but still pretty good. It's a top ten add-on for me, and I've been simming for almost 30 years...

I used to have it but lost the installation file and can't for the life of me remember where I bought it from lol, but what I can tell you is that it certainly was one of my favourites and it is an excellent simulation of the real thing. Probably one of the best twin simulations there is in fact. I'd have no hesitation at all in recommending it.

If you bought it from Aerosoft, you can download the current version from your Aerosoft shop account. It might worth checking in on their shop website to see if that's where you bought it.

Sounds great guys.  Thanks of the feedback and info.  Looks like all I have to do now is to clear it with the proper financial institutions (aka wife).  Chuckle.
