...well, the Release Notes  explains...

"The following list of updates has been categorized based on the installer required. The Client installer is required for Prepar3D v4.2, however the Content, Scenery, and SDK installers are optional. You must first have Prepar3D v4 installed to utilize the Client only installer. To install the Prepar3D v4.2 Client, you must first uninstall the previous Prepar3D v4.0/v4.1 Client through Programs and Features in Windows Control Panel."

Did you performed a full install or just the client?

Please  note that there are changes in the three components and therefore a full installation would be required for a total update.

I see in the change notes some optimization has been done for dynamic lighting, I’ll be interested to see how much performance has increased.

Lots of fixes for time zones too, perhaps that will fix the issues some people have with trans Atlantic flight and ctd’s over Labrador.

I've downloaded the update but i'm going to wait to see what other people make of it first. i.e. is it worth updating looking at the changelog i'm not so sure?

If it fixes CTD at Labrador and improves DL I am a happy camper :)

So the only things we will miss if we only update the Client is the following ? That's perfect as I guess most of us is not interested on these.
