June 17, 200619 yr Hello everyone, while searching google I came to this site:http://www.mindstarprods.com/aviation/They have developed the G1000 Panel and is great.I just purchased it, lot's of cool functions just like the real one.Hope the info is usefullTake CareJesus Hernandez
June 17, 200619 yr Interesting... but 182 only?Eh.... not sure, even if I -could- run it. Kinda steep ($50) for a single aircraft, I think.Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
June 17, 200619 yr It says..the coming release is foir a Diamon D-40. But there is no D40 for MSSim.Hmmm...Does this have moving terrain in the MFD?It certainly is interesting. Project Majadenta has been silent since the last 1 year when they announced a demo versaion saying "iminent".Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
June 17, 200619 yr Moderator That's a serious bit of kit there. When I think that it was only six months ago that Stasi came to the Aircraft & Panel forum looking for some help "getting started with GDI+" and I began a long and warm friendship with him... Wow!Stasi hasn't begun "advertising" yet because it's still a WIP (Work In Progress) and quite honestly his target market at this time is primarily flight schools. This is NOT an aircraft. It is a complete panel & gauges that autoinstalls to the default FS9 C172.The DA40 version will be a complete package, details to be determined. To reiterate, this is still very much a WIP. There's still a LOT of functionality to be added... :) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 17, 200619 yr Mindstar Aviation and Eaglesoft Development Group formed an exclusive agreement some months ago to work together on development of G1000 for Flight Simulation. What Mindstar is offering at this time is a work in progress. More on this as we move forward:-)
June 17, 200619 yr Likely someone that would be interested in running the G1000, is unlikely to want to run it in the default C182. Now if you generalize the install, or at least allow panel tweakers to put it in another panel ...I guess still a work in progress, as you say. June 17, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Hello Gentlemen, Well, I should probably chime-in on this since it seems our G1000 is out of the bag.Mindstar Aviation, the makers of the aforementioned G1000, is a division of a motion picture software company called Mindstar Productions. As Bill and Ron have already mentioned above, we at Mindstar Aviation have established an exclusive distribution arragnement with Eaglesoft. Under this arrangement, Mindstar will still offer the G1000 as an add-on, while Eaglesoft will be offering a version of Mindstar's G1000 in full packages (aircraft+panel). Mindstar is focusing on the avionics, while leveraging Eaglesoft's excellent reputation for high-quality full aircraft packages such as their Cirrus SR series, Cessna Citations, and exciting future projects yet to be announced. The version of the G1000 we sell at this time is, as mentioned, a continued work-in-progress, although I think that phraseology requires some clarification. Any versions we release are heavily tested. The "work-in-progress" designation is meant to simply make clear that there will certainly be features that are not available yet, and on a (hopefully rare) occasion, you may find something that doesn't work quite right. Customers who purchase from Mindstar during this development phase are offered free upgrades to the panel as our development continues. We are indeed focusing our current marketing efforts on flight schools and real-world pilots' transition to glass cockpits, but that doesn't mean we turn anyone away. As long as you have FS2004 (FS9), you're free to purchase the add-on. Our install program does indeed install the G1000 panel system into the default C182, but remember that the eventual release of the full aircraft package options from Eaglesoft will certainly expand the aircraft base. The panel tweakers will certainly always do what they do, but we'll only offer technical support for installation in the approved aircraft. Finally, I feel it's important to mention that I personally have been flying General Aviation aircraft for over 20 years, and I'm currently flying 3 different aircraft, all equipped with the G1000 cockpit. I absolutely love the system, I have spoken directly with Garmin and Diamond on numerous occasions about it, and they are all aware of our efforts.Unfortunately, I don't make it into this forum as often as I'd like, but as you already saw above, others who are aware of our efforts are here all the time. Mindstar and Eaglesoft have many more exciting projects on the way. Feel free to post questions here, or to the email address listed on our respective websites. Fly safe!Kind Regards, Stasi PoulosPresident/CEOMindstar ProductionsMindstar Aviationwww.MindstarAviation.com
June 18, 200619 yr Stasi:Wow, this is great stuff. i'd like to see it utilized in an airliner context, specifically the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner panel, which utilizes a very similar gauge array, does it not? Can't wait...FlightSimulator needs this kind of progress to move into the 21st century.http://www.my-buddy-icon.com/Icons/objects/red_3d_plane.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD PowerSpec G426 PC running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 11700K @ 3.60GHz 30 °C, 4089MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 , ASUS TUF Z590-Plus Gaming motherboard, Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD, Samsung 750 EVO 500GB SSD, Acer Predator X34 34" curved monitor (external view), RealSim Gear G-1000 avionics suite, RealSim Gear GNS 450, Slavix Stay Level Custom Metal Panel, Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Redbird Alloy THI, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals.
June 18, 200619 yr Hello, I am currently under going training for a JAA ATPL. I am concentrating on finishing my exams first before continuing with flight training, but this software/addon looks extremely appealing. I currently only have time on C172's but when I continue, I may look into training with G1000's equiped aircraft. As you say it is still a work-in-progress and you will continue to update, but could you advise on roughly how complete it is currently (% wise) before I consider purchasing. Alaister Kay
June 18, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member It's hard to give an accurate "percentage" of completion, so instead, what I'll do is put together a list of items that you can and cannot do as of today's date. The updates are being released approximately every 4-6 weeks, so any information I post becomes outdated in that timeframe. In order to prevent the info from going stale in this forum, I'll add a page to our website that answers this question. I have already put the template page onto the server, and I'll update the list within the next few hours. Here's the link:http://www.MindstarAviation.com/G1000_Features.html
June 18, 200619 yr Terrain display would not be possible because of limitations in FS9? WOW... The default GPS500 even has terrain display. Thats a big disappointment. Hopefully, FSX would have a fix? Range Knob Push-for-Cursor GPS Direct-To Button GPS FPL Flight Plan Button GPS CLR Button GPS Menu Button Yeah.. those are garden variety functions used in G1000. Hopefully those features get high priority.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
June 18, 200619 yr Is the relationship a propriety agreement between Garmin and Mindstar and Eaglesoft or Mindstar and Eaglesoft? I have seen the word exclusive used several times and a bit confused. Thanks.Bob... Bob Prince
June 18, 200619 yr Author Commercial Member Don't confuse "topography" display with "terrain warning" display. In the context of G1000 terminology, "topography" (the TOPO button) is the graphical display of elevation, while "terrain" is where terrain turns red when your aircraft is too low to fly over it. It's understandably confusing because the term "terrain" changed meanings between the GNS530 and the G1000.Also, the relationship mentioned above is between Eaglesoft and Mindstar, but Eaglesoft has additonal proprietary relationships they wish to protect. Finally, regarding those GPS buttons -- they ARE active on the PFD, they are simply not activated yet on the MFD.
