FFPS:FFTF question

FFTF Dyn controls the FFTF value , just like Booster 2018.

Fiber Acc has a slightly difference approach.

Imho FFTF Dyn is the best...

Run it on my FSLabs A320 PC, 8700k 5,5ghz HT off avx 0, mems 4266 c17 with 1080TIx2 , works as expected thanks Gerard,

Like raw power with HT on i can run 5.4ghx avx -1 , the 200mhz did the difference the low point is higher

Although, I think that this tool is not for me, I learned a lot by continuously reading in this very long thread. Thanks to all gurus and other contributors!

What is avx 0, avx -1?

5.5GHz and 5.4GHz is not 200MHz difference is it?

P3D have some avx instrutions in their code, on x299 z270 z370 you can set a negative avx multi , ex you run multi 54 and avx 1 it downclock to 53.

5.5ghz avx 0=5.5ghz 5.4ghz avx -1=5,3ghz when cpu sence avx instrutions, they ar very hard on cpu and build a lot of heat

Heads up guys, I just had been asked this: What happens when the CPU or GPU goes 100%?

Suppose DEMAND is rising, hits 100% but can't go to 101%.

So we now have 99%~ throughput of DEMAND.

Because the system is designed so that it can usually maintain fps with a margin of that we are often OK. We realise that a stutter may be coming any time soon. However there's more. There's a kind of 'flat line' effect that gives a fake feeling of smooth but might too readily fall all over the place. Causing the playing around of AMs or FFTF or whatever and seeing some kind of big changes. Not satisfied overall with the results. Something to consider when setting up and testing is to watch the figures.

Awesome westman. The way CPUs work mean we do actually get more for our money. The floating point throughput can be extra impressive on the top models extending the useable life, gaining back the extra cost.

...so why do we get caught out so easily with this condition rising? Looking at the demand of 101% vs the throughput of 99% we have a drop in requirements of 2% - double what we expect. Once we look at task manager and the graph is at 100% ask yourself what would it be showing you unrestricted, 101%? 150%, 200%...

Thanks for the info Hasse. Will set avx to -1 now as I did not know P3D had these instructions.

Its very little  info of it, I see some suspisios downclocks when tested 7700k in p3d if i remember right had it set to -2 then set to zero and -6  it followed that downclock in p3d, it was jan 2017.

Then you can lock at  the video in the middle when they explain the overclocking  values from siliconlottery wy they set a 5.1ghz -2 avx cpu to 5.0ghz avx 0

Hello,

Are you the dev for FFTF? Just a small suggestion if so, could you add on option somewhere to start FFTF when P3d is launched?
