February 27, 20206 yr End of February is here, I know nothing was promised, but can we have a status update? Does current status remain "release time completely unknown" ? February 27, 20206 yr Commercial Member Hi, yes unfortunately officially it does. I say officially because, as annoying as this vagueness is, it would create a lot more annoyance if I gave dates every time we heard something only to delay again and again. It is incredibly frustrating to have so much invested in this yoke and not be able to get them out there to you all. Apart from the financial aspects, this really is a game changer. The current situation is that the unknown delays in China are affecting the sourcing of many parts and suppliers globally are being affected. We have tried various solutions and have managed to find a capable supplier who is looking at producing the part of the control system that we need. A sample is on its way and after testing we will likely go with that. We even investigated control electronics that were less capable and more expensive although these were also in short supply. I was not willing to compromise the features of the yoke though but even if I was, there were still supply chain constraints. Rest assured, the mechanism and yoke are unchanged in design. Only the manufacturing of a board is changing. All the features such as 8" travel, 180 degrees of roll, interchangeable yoke, steel springs, bearings with zero detents and contactless magnetic sensors remain unchanged. If all goes well with the test I will have further updates soon. Thanks again for your ongoing support I appreciate the interest in our product. Believe me though when I say that nobody wants this out there more than us. February 27, 20206 yr I am contemplating to mount my next yoke to a Wheel stand pro in a similar manner as the Logitech yoke. If you don't know the Wheel stand, Here is a link to the website showing some Logitech gear mounted to it. Do you think that will be possible? The easiest would be if the Fulcrum yoke has screw holes in the same location as the Logitech. The Fulcrum is probably heavier than the Logitech but do you think it its weight might be a problem? February 27, 20206 yr Commercial Member Hi Allard Yes the yoke is a lot heavier than the logitech, although attaching the yoke should not be too hard as it has captive nuts for M6 bolts in the base if you do not want to use the included desk clamp. These are not the same as the logitech but the yoke comes with a drill template to allow easy drilling of any mounting surface. In all honesty though, I have not tried it on a wheel stand, it has only been tested on fixed desks or racing seats/cockpits where it has a solid mounting point. I suppose if the stand is rigid enough for a force feedback steering wheel then it might be good enough, especially if you have your feet on it but I could not recommend one solely for the use of our yoke without trying it for myself. February 27, 20206 yr Hi Chris, Thank you for your clear answer. If there's a drill plate than that should do the trick. Off course you can't recommend anything you haven't tested yourself, and I don't expect you to test all configurations. While searching the internet I found that I am not the only one wondering whether it could be done: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/192195-fulcrum-flight-yoke/ Allard. Now how about we give Tutmiester a bit of peace, it appears he has put a lot of money into this project and must be frustrated with the current turn of events. Stay safe and well everybody. Mick

March 21, 20206 yr Commercial Member Hi all, thanks for the ongoing interest. Update is that I am moving our electronics back to the UK. I have found a manufacturer here and they are going to be producing boards for us. They are making a test sample that I should have early next week and assuming that it is ok I will order with them. Then it will be a handful of weeks to produce the first batch. Obviously we are being hit by slowdowns and closures here in the UK too so I'm not going to promise anything. Nearly every supply chain is affected as pretty much everything is global at some point. For example, I was speaking to the guys that do our serial number labels and pop up banners for shows and their fabric comes from china, so even things that you think won't be affected too badly are. I guess that the bottom line is that we are still all healthy and looking forward to getting these out there. Unfortunately the size of the first batch is a bit of an unknown and so is the delivery date. It all depends on how quickly they can make them and availability of components. Justremember that in the background we are still moving forward every day. Having things in the UK gives us more control. It actually does cost a bit more but I have direct access to the factory this way and speak to them on the phone about any queries they have. It feels good to be getting somewhere as we have been spending and not trading for over 3 months beyond our projected start date now. That is not a good place to be for any business let alone a start up. On the bright side I feel more justified in not taking pre orders though!😆 I will update next week once the test board is here. Thanks again. Chris Owner, Fulcrum Simulator Controls. fulcrumsim.com facebook.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols instagram.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols twitter.com/Fulcrum_SC
March 28, 20206 yr Chris, I whole-heartedly support your decision to in-source and will absolutely be purchasing one of your yokes when it becomes available.
