Maybe someone should post a sticky or something and let folks know the project is on hold or what ever the real status is. October 15, 20196 yr That would be lovely to know - after the great initial product it simply was a great disappointment the DA has been left in this incomplete status - I've written to Sean but never got a reply and offered some advice as I am flying the real 42. It's a great vision but crippled in its functionality. I'd rather he would charge $100 for it and continue development. Sebastian J Hess heavy PMDG user

I don't think that I have read anywhere that he has so much as answered one single email since release. I get it that he may have some family problems but we are coming up on a year after launch. I find it hard to believe that in all that time, he has not had a couple of minutes to let customers know if this is a dead project or come back in 3 years or something. Reminds me of this Honeycomb yoke affair. I see all over the net where folks are confused and having problems with this product and pretty much zero support. I have the yoke and like it a lot and so for I have not had problems so I don't have a dog in that fight. It just all makes me wonder if it is not time to find a good golf simulator. October 15, 20196 yr Maybe all his efforts have been refocused on MS Fright Stimulator 2020. Just saying. Hope he hasn't abandoned P3D.

Could be that but I think it is just a "Red Herring". MS Fright Stimulator 2020 has just become an excuse for everything. I tried to order a part for my electric stove in the kitchen and Kenmore said that they were not making any more parts until the release of the "New MS 2020 simulator of the Gods". October 15, 20196 yr RealAir disappeared because the developers could not continue to support their products... but why come back with a new product if you are not going to have time to support it all over again? His family member has unfortunately been sick since RealAir was around. Not supporting your product is not very nice to paying customers whatever the reason is. That is as for as I can remember all true. It is too bad really. Many of the Dev's have a lot of talent but I have been at this hobby for 25 years plus and with a couple of exceptions, I don't believe any of the Dev's really do more than just toy around with flight sim add ons and never get very serious about them. Most of them make their money else where and just take a shot at our bank account once in a while. I used to do a lot of Bass Fishing. We had a saying about the sale of fishing equipment. New lures were not designed to catch fish. They were just made to catch fisherman! LOL It is all just a con job really like the new I-phones now with 3 cameras!! and sometimes you can talk on them if they work. LOL!! October 16, 20196 yr I just picked this up... Great flying machine! If the developer manages to add in airway support within the G1000, as well as some windshield and icing effects, - this will be a real game changer- already as great as it is now. I ran into a little trouble getting an IFR re-route (on pilotedge) while having to switch victor airways, the workaround was to enter each fix on the airways separately. No, RealAir ceased operations because Rob wanted to retire. Sean, being very talented, proceeded on with his own products... like the DA62. Remember too, that it was Sean who made up the P3Dv4 installers for RealAir products (after they ceased ops) like the Lancair and Turbine Duke... at no charge to those who bought the original aircraft. To be clear, I'm in no way associated with Sean or RealAir... indeed I still can't bring myself to buy an airplane as fugly as the DA-62. That has nothing to do with Sean's talent! Hopefully Sean and his family are doing well and he'll soon be able to rejoin us. Greg

In fact, that talent and the potential for becoming another Classic in the style of his previous work is what makes us a little crazy and we just want a little assurance that this is not a dead project so to speak. It goes without saying that Sean's first priority is to his family. I do think that you might need to put a little priority on maybe getting your eyes checked if you see the DA-62 as "fugly"!! LOL!! 😜 Sam Prepar3D V5.3/[email protected]/EVGA 3080 TI/1000W PSU/Windows 10/40" 4K Samsung@3840x2160/ASP3D/ASCA/ORBX/ ChasePlane/General Aviation/Honeycomb Alpha+Bravo/MFG Rudder Pedals/

I think it's that T-tail and extra bits hanging off the tail section that just kinda looks off on an otherwise very slick looking airplane. However, I wouldn't turn down a chance to fly one, mind you. I have purchased this fine plane for P3D, and revisiting this thread has me jonesing to fly it again. I think I know what I'll do this evening! Chris

For me, I hardly ever use an outside view for anything other than parking in a tight spot. 99% of my time is spent with the cockpit and what is out front. Other than the areas visible from the left seat, I dont care if it looks like a shoe box and is painted pink so long as it flies good. October 17, 20196 yr Ironically, I just got back from flying in real life. The 172 I rented was parked next to a DA42 Twin Star....yep I still think it’s an ugly plane 😂. He also took off right after me. Of course I don’t think he cared what I thought of his plane as he blew right past me a couple of minutes after departure. I did fly the DA62 last night in the sim, it really is a great plane to fly. Edited October 18, 20196 yr by snglecoil Chris
