Hi guys,

in my test the only very big problem with this bird is WX and Radar Terrain. When show on ND, fps drop and see bad stutters. Disable wx or rdr terrain in ND...fps good and no stutters. Use 1.3 on p3d 4.4 (full install, no update). My rig...I7 7700k@5ghz, 16gb ram, gtx 1080, win10 x64 pro. Anyone have same trouble?

It is generally heavy on performance, at least for me too. Even without radars it noticeably affects my experience.

You should show your computer specs in your signature so CS can set up minimum requirements.  Maybe only computers like mine work with this aircraft.

Right now I have to take a flight from Chicago to KIAD as it is pouring rain here in the Washington DC area.  Should be a fairly good test.

I will have to test fly the plane before I can provide accurate information on framerates, but panning around the VC during my "save scenario" preparations earlier today felt very smooth indeed.....and my PC is definitely not a top of the range model.

It was raining in Chicago and the whole route to Dulles but I landed safely with no visibility until just before touching down.  Here's the report from the FSUIPC log (giving you the whole thing so you can see the aircraft used and sim).  At the bottom is the nitty-gritty fps.  Had the weather radar turned on throughout the flight.  Used ASP4 w/ASCA for weather and clouds.  I also used FSDT KORD and FlightBeamKIAD; Used the following MSE photoscenery - Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.  I have most of my P3D settings maxed but no autogen as I was using MSE.  I also use UTLive at 76%.  Also loading during the flight was DD Wash X and DD Seattle X as those are photosceneries too and all photosceneries load if enabled.  At FL 350, I increased the sim speed to 4X and turned it to normal during descent.  That's about it.  All I can say is that it was extremely smooth and I can safely say for sure, FSX or P3DV3 or lower would never have successfully landed this flight with all of the addons.

EDIT:  Also had the VC Passenger Cabin enabled.

I have to say, that based on what i've seen on my system, it's quite heavy on the gpu. Since I switched from a 750ti 2gb to a 6gb 1060, there was quite a big gap; just like with other add-ons (ex aerosoft pro). So it depends also on where you're flying and whether you own vfr textures or not. that can affect that as well. I get ok fps at cpu intensive fields, but for example, i wouldn't recommend flying into bos from flytampa if you can't handle let's say FB ksfo. Although honestly it surprised me when I got 30fps at the gpu instensive KMIA.

I used to fly the QW B757 extensively in FSX-SE. However, I have moved on to P3Dv4, so, I picked up the Captain Sim rendition during the one day sale. Have flown it for about 10 hours or so by now. No issues with it. I really like the aircraft.

Scott

Prepar3D is programmed to use the CPU more than the GPU.  Of course it still uses the GPU but not as intensive as the CPU.  Same as FSX.   In FS9, Microsoft programmed it to use the GPU more than the CPU (back in the duo core days).  If FSX were still be programmed by Microsoft, I'm positive they would have given priorities to both the GPU and CPU but it is no longer being programmed.  P3D is based off of FSX.  Maybe V5?

Actually I got more fps out of this thing than the tfdi with the old GPU.  Afterthen it depends what you consider as "low" fps; To me low fps is when it gets under 15 during a landing, and about 20 on cruise. BTW disabling VC cabin gave me a little boost (about 2-5fps, which isnt bad at all)

ON FsElite Cs stated that the 757F was undergoing beta.  IT would include all RR and PW variants combined

IMO I just am interested about the 757 as a pax version but who knows, it may interest me one day a bit like with the 747

Great looking interior for their cargo version. Not an after thought  like other developers who do cargo variants. Consistent with their beautiful pax cabin.

Is there a tutorial flight PDF document anywhere? Something like the PMDG 737 NGX Tutorial #1? I would like to know the correct flow to use in the FMS when preparing a flight. For the record, framerates when panning around this plane on the ground in external/VC/cabin modes are very good so far.
