Super easy and really quite quick.  Open UTL and under the simulation tab and on the right side is Traffic Display Settings and check that you have the check boxes as below.

Got it. Thanks.

The problem is that it tends to "ZAP" the airplanes rather than separate them..

Yes it does. I try not to notice... 🤣

What do you mean by Zap, instead of seperating them?

I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do.

If it doesn't know what to do with them, they get taken out.

You might see 4 or 5 aircraft lined up in the distance and at some point one or more will disappear. Not a deal breaker for me vs a bunch of ac doing go arounds.

The many go arounds is one thing that makes watching AI annoying, so maybe it's about time I buy FSUIPC instead of the free version I have used untill now. And as I understand it, it can also reduce ai in a "bubble" around you so it's easier on framerates, is that correct?

On second thought after reading about what the paid version can do, there's actually only the AI function that I would be interested in, so aprox. $43 for that, is a little too much for me. I'll just have to live with some go arounds I guess. 🙂

I understood that feature was just for the flight map display, not what you see / is spawned in the sim ...... but then never used / checked it before my switch to AIG etc many flightplans ago.

for now, cheers

That were my initial thoughts too. Never touched it. Now I have about 200 AIG OCI airlines + only 30, but important airlines like Cathay, Air Canada, Virgin Australia, EVA, .. from UTL. Absolutely stunning. Now we "only" need a better handling of ai traffic in air and on ground. LM please catch up!

Edit: And all was done in two evening sessions!

& while they're at it, LM needs to allow "better" control of AI assigned runways to "mirror" real world runway use at different times of the day and movements with stronger tailwinds (eg at KLAX, use east ops overnight for arrivals, west ops for departures etc.)

for now, cheers

I believe that is why we check the "use limits in P3dv4 and user interface" box. I've never once had a use for the traffic board they include, but this method DOES indeed work in removing airlines from being injected by UTL.

more than interesting to hear (from Nemo as well).

a question though, how do you manage the amount of spawning ..... for UTL & separately P3D4 for bgl's (with or without fsuipc's limiter).

for now, cheers

LOL, that I really have no idea, as much time that I have spent tinkering with it etc, I don't actually use UTL. Even though it's far and away the best payware option for AI, it's not anywhere near close to being as good as a custom setup.

That spawning issue although much better than it was in UT2 is still very annoying and isn't an issue with bgl traffic.

me neither ...... but had to ask anyways.

agreed, particularly with either Vox's engine or fsuip's limiter.

For those that say AIG does not have all the airlines.....they will.  They produce flightplans on a seasonal basis.  So they will do a huge batch for Winter 18-19 then do another huge batch for Summer 19.   They made Summer 18 available so you can get more airlines loaded.   So eventually you will  have all the airlines and many little ones you probably don't get with UTL or TG.  Here is winter 18-19: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=28612.0

Summer 18: https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=27478.0

They've also done scripts for cabin lighting, night lighting.

They will have a lot of the airlines, but I wouldn't expect them to have as many as UTL (talking flightplans, of course). I don't think they have ever done Tropic Air or MAYAir, for example.

Still, as I mentioned, it is not a one or the other issue. You can use both. If you want a cheap, quick solution, of course, AIG is absolute perfection. Not only will it satisfy most people, it probably has made all payware products obsolete. If you already own UTL, however, there are ways they can compliment each other.

BTW, AIG just uploaded a bunch of stuff overnight. Time to fire it up and see what's new:)
