22 August Update

Featured Replies

I actually forgot we were going to get an update today. It's nice to have the hype tempered.

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Please Microsoft release the update earlier than last week so that people who live in Europe like me won't have to stay late through the night, thanks

They usually post very late in the day here (GMT +2) so we will probably have to wait a while still.

They should confirm the official name of the sim including its authorized shorter variants.

What do you mean with this? The official name is Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS)?

Ha...It's a bit of an inside joke around here.

I suppose it means they are testing some flights on the Alpha version. It could also means they might share some short clips of it.

I think it’s internal Microsoft project management speak unfortunately, not anything to do with actual flying. I’ve seen ‘flighting’ tests in ms office apps - basically bundles of code they are testing at any given time.

You can see various uses and explanations of the word flighting in here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/data-entities/data-entities-data-packages

Tl/dr - internal flighting is ms speak

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. But I already mentioned above I had a second thought and concluded it was probably an internal phase on the alpha (but I thought flying was refering to really flying on the sim, now I know it doesn't).

9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme
Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz
Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Suggestion to Microsoft don't post the date of the next update that will "word not allowed " them off.

You do realize this topic will be locked when the update goes live don't you?  So lets get all our speculation and wishes out of the way now. That way we can have a clean new topic.😂

Thank you.
