Autogen will not match the real world in the type of buildings.  I already said that when I was describing Page in a post above.  Right now, I'm only interested in the scale of the buildings depicted.  You claim they're "comically oversized."  But you refuse to even attempt to prove it.  I have MEASURED a 10% to 15% oversize in SOME buildings, which isn't enough to see unless you're right against the building.

Quite obviously you are "up against the wall", check out the screenshot above and compare it to the Google Earth link above.  

You will see the autogen houses are comically oversized and look like warehouses.

Doesn't matter that it's Orbx or "stock", all autogen is stuck with the same scaling issues.

I have just proved my assertion that autogen houses are comically oversized.

It's now up to you to disprove it.  So do post some screenshots of your landings and we will compare your "stock" autogen with the real world via Google Earth.

Of course, I very much doubt you will post anything because you know that you cannot disprove my assertion that autogen houses are comically oversized, just as I expected!

We are.. and I'll reiterate that I hope in the 29th August update Microsoft posts images confirming the following:-

  1. That the 20,000+ generic airports all feature some degree of sloping/undulating runways, just like in the "real world" and XPlane
  2. That they have fixed the comically oversized autogen issues (houses and trees) that plague FSX/ESP/P3D.

At this point anyone who is interested (and actually *HAS* FSX or P3D) knows how to check it for themselves.

And MatthewS goes back on ignore, as he has nothing useful to say.

As for the update, we'll find out soon enough.

Actually, I'm in Texas northeast of Dallas.  Central time.

Well, the avatar shows a giraffe looking in an airliner window at altitude.  We've already seen giraffes in the trailer.  Maybe Microsoft will be inspired. 🙂

I just took some screen shots.  Turns out I was wrong earlier.  The avatar is 485 pixels tall, the door is 600 pixels.  Looks like the scale is exactly right, not 10-15% oversized. 😄  My mistake.  A couple of other doors were actually a bit shorter than the avatar.

Don't take my word for it.  Try it yourself!

You mean, inspired to make comically oversized giraffe ?  I dont know of any REAL giraffe with such a long neck. This is going to be a big fail, I feel it. Oversized giraffe, duh...

Exactly like I said, you are unable to rebut my proof that autogen houses are comically oversized. Yes put me on "ignore", I guess the truth hurts.

I'm sorry but I can't just "take your word for it". Post the screen shots so we can actually see what buildings you are talking about.

Of course, I know we are comparing apples to oranges, but it might be helpful to be enlightened and then you can begin you quest to find evidence that disproves me.

Firstly, define "comically oversized". My house is taller than a similarly styled house behind it. Does that mean mine is comically oversized?

As usual, you make your assertion (which you state as fact) and when asked for actual evidence to back up your claim, you basically just say that you're correct and everyone else has to disprove it. That one vague screenshot from height proves absolutely nothing. Show us a selection of close-up, default screenshots of aircraft parked next to trees or buildings to prove your point.

You've already been comprehensively shot down over your claim that the new sim wouldn't have sloped runways (although you've tried to qualify your original statement so it doesn't look quite as wrong). Now you've moved on to autogen size. When you prove your point no one will argue with you. You'll be right and we'll all respect your observational skills and move on. It's that simple. Your word (just like everyone else's) is not proof.

See my post above on Half Moon Bay and look at the screenshot and Google Earth.  Houses the size of warehouses are comically oversized.

Wrong, read my post of 21 Aug (linked below), the day before the 22nd Aug update came out, where I talk about 20,000+ generic airports. Still waiting for Microsoft to confirm that all 20,000+ generic airports have sloping/undulating runways, the 22 Aug update did not confirm this.
