In this community, users have the most diverse needs and wishes. Therefore it would be good if FS2020 would respond to them. To say that one monitor is enough for me, so that's enough for you too, is a bit too short.

@Microsoft: Please give us as many undockable windows as possible. Thanks!

I would understand the need for multiple screens 10 years ago, but nowadays I don't think they are that important and I say this having used very complicated multi-screen setups in the past.

Between projectors, ultra-wide screens, big TVs and VR, I think 99% of the use-cases are covered with just these options. In any case, I hope MS provides support for those who need it.

My understanding from all info in the last days is that MSFS2020 does not support multi-screens in the first planned release next year.

Release date of MSFS2020 is planned for this year, not next 😉 And I'm near to sure, that multi-screen will be supported.

who needs monitors at all, my VR Headset is more then enough! /s 😉

But the rez is much lower than what monitors have right? Im holding off on VR till the rez is bumped!

Did you realize that you were quoting a post from last year? 🙂

The need for multiple screens is still important in 2020, just as it was in 2010. Big TVs and projectors still only cover a narrow field of view, and you need a wide field of view for full immersion and peripheral vision. A proper home cockpit in 2020 has 3 (or 5) TVs or projectors. An ultrawide monitor is better than a standard monitor, but it's not going to give you the full view from a 737 cockpit, for example.

Yes, VR is one thing that has changed the landscape significantly in the past 10 years, but that is - of course - something that we expect MSFS to not have on release day.

Edit: I've stopped using my 737 home cockpit due to VR, but Prosim have said they're going to support MSFS, so that's made me think I might fire it up again.

Rez is fine, really. The new v2 HP Reverb will keep you happy if you are really pedantic about resolution.

Resolution was a big problem several years ago, now it's a minor inconvenience if that.

You can hold off forever on any new tech, but if you're holding out on VR just because of resolution then you are missing out on some great flight experiences that can be had right now.

It might be important for some, but I believe for not as many. The majority of simmers used/use two or three monitors next to each other to get a wider take on their flight-decks and that is totally covered by 32:9 monitors today. Track-IR solves the remaining limitations that may exist with these setups.

Again, I do hope that multi-monitor is still supported for cockpit builders and other edge cases.

Au, sorry 🙂

Even Asobo manage to add multi screens in MSFS, they need to optimize the performance as the engine need to render several separate views simultaneously. I do hope Asobo manage to add this Nvidia tech into the sim:

That's cool, because xmapsy is based on FSUIPC, which means MSFS will work with other FSUIPC based networked add-ons, or in the worst case with a minor update. Yaay.

With a little luck Simconnect based connections will work also.

Maybe MSFS will, dunno about F2020.. it's imaginary & cannot respond to forum requests.

@Microsoft already gives yoy many undockable & dockable windows in Windows 10.as well, only Asobo, who is developing MSFS can enable various windows in MSFS.

This is awesome and new to me. Which game does support this at the moment?

There is one thing to consider if you want to have more than one  display and your internet connection isn’t the fastest. All those extra pixels need downloading. Two UHD displays is twice the data - obviously. That could change a fluid sim into a slideshow unless compromises are made or scenery is downloaded first.

Maybe that was in the back of Microsoft’s mind when they limited it to a single display.

Not sure what game support this feature. LM was thinking to add this feature into P3D but never made it.
