Carenado's B120 is Out. Got it? What do you think?

Featured Replies

If you bought the Carenado's B120, I would like to know what you think about it.  Keep in mind that I already know it's not a study-level version.  Does it meet your expectations of a EMB-120 simulation?  If you have piloted a real EMB-120, how does this simulation handles in comparison?  Thank you.

Is there a list of the liveries it comes with?  Each description I read says "8 HD liveries" but doesn't actually provide a list.

Some day I'm hoping to see:

-The other Uniteds (Saul Bass, Rising Blue, Merger)

-TW Express

-Denver Air Connection/Key Lime Air

-Great Lakes

-Alternate SkyWest (with SkyWest tail text centered on the vertical blue stripe)

-Delta Connection

-ASA

Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM

@CaptKornDog, it doesn't say, but from the photos I see:

  1. Air Charter Express
  2. Air Moldova
  3. Brazilean Air Force
  4. British Airways
  5. KLM Excel
  6. Sky Europe
  7. Skywest
  8. United Express

I didn’t know they were making one of these...They seem to produce a lot of airplanes quickly.

And you know what they say about that?  "Do you want it done 'right' or do you want it done fast?"  (Rarely can you have both)

So far it is pretty decent. Couple of bugs...which is normal for Carenado but it flies well and looks pretty good too. I can say I have enjoyed it alot so far. Is it PMDG JS41 or Majestic Dash 8 level? no...but it is certainly leaps and bounds better than the old emb-120 model that has been around forever.

Show please,  how GTN 750 is integrated.

In jurisprudence, there is a principle - you look for the person who benefits.

It sits where the radar would have been

So far not too impressed. I have a huge frame drop (10 fps) unless I load the  525A Citation first then load the B120 (40 fps). This appears Carenado Navigraph related as the Premier 1A also suffers this issue so I will report to Carenado and hope for a solution (Carenado have said to others to change permissions for their Navigraph but this did nothing). I have run the GTN750 routine and it is available in the cabin but is just blank. If I click F10 I see it working there but not in the VC. I cannot shut the engines down by cutting off the fuel. Ctl/Shft/F1 will stop the Right and almost stop the Left which roars back into life and needs to be reversed before that sequence. I have had so much stuffing around that I have not yet flown it but will see how it goes. Others have reported similar issues on the Avsim Carenado forum and I expect a few more issues to come.

Certainly not a plane on my "wish list".  Do they listen to their customers?

Zero interest in this plane.

Stan

Does it have a windshield rain effect?   I don't see it in their spec list, but it could be assumed to be in there, with a modern add-on like this appears to be (PBR...).

Looks like the RXP GTN is the only one showing up in the VC so far.... I shouldn't expect much from Carenado, but this one seems to be way buggier than usual from them.... bummer.

Since the the EMB120 doesn't have separate propeller and condition levers, Carenado tied both together. (The condition lever tooltip says 'prop rpm')

You have to use the key command for 'reduce prop RPM' to shut down the engines.
