Aerosoft CRJ-1000 major update announced

Featured Replies

Hi guys

As I understand you can upgrade from crj 700/900 X to crj pro for about 20 dollars.

However, I just received a mail from pc aviator that only offers me a 25% discount for updating and I would have to pay 57 dollars. 😮

Does anyone know about this?

Regards

EDIT :

Do not worry, pcaviator just sent me a new email and they have corrected the amount of the update, now if it is correct, 20 dollars. They have not taken in correcting it.

Very well done pcaviator !!!!

Cheers

I'm sure there is a lot off feedback about the airplane so far but I'll throw my FYIs in.

It's fun.  I do enjoy flying it.  Did my first flight yesterday KORD-KCID.  Couple of things that need to be ironed out though.

-Flew autopilot ILS RY9 in KCID.  Low VIS and strong quarterly headwind.  The CDI never centered.  Tracked the GS fine but the CDI was always deflected to the right.  When I came out of the cloud bases, I had to manually correct to alignment with RY.

-There is a lag between inputs in the EFB.   I believe the DEV is working on this.

-Using speed to climb to ALT, the autopilot always blows through the altitude by a few hundred feet and then suddenly pitches down to re-capture set ALT.

-Didn't try charts in EFB because I didn't want a CTD.  I think DEV is also working on a fix for this.

One can add an auto throttle to any jet aircraft.

Of course, depending on how the aircraft is modeled, it

may work well or not.

In the aircraft.cfg file, these entries must be like this:

[autopilot]
autopilot_available= 1
autothrottle_available= 1
autothrottle_arming_required= 0

In FSX and P3D, if you map a key or button to Autopilot airspeed hold (on/off)

it will hold whatever speed you are doing.

If one's quest is to achieve the nearest thing to real life, as most of any aircraft

critics seem to have, to do this would be heresy.

Thanks for this!  It's come in handy on some other airplanes but couldn't get to work in this one.  Any other suggestions?

This aircraft looks very nice, how are the FPS in comparison to the PMDG NGu?

They are higher but unfortunately they fluctuate a ton. So it ends up not feeling very smooth. There was a thread about it on aerosoft’s forum but it got deleted?

David,

I would say the fps are similar to, if not a bit better than the NGu. As far as not very smooth, take that comment with a grain of salt, as depending on how you configure P3D it can be very smooth. I run 30 fps locked in P3D on a Gsync monitor and I get very smooth performance with the CRJ Pro. I suspect one would find it to work just as well running 30 hz with vsync. I'd test it for you but my stupid Gsync monitor can't be set to 30 hz - 24, 60, 85, up to 144 but not 30.

Im running Vsync at 30hz but I get fluctuations down to 20 fps. Not a constant smooth 30 fps. If I uncap frame rate it will fluctuate between 70 and 20 fps with the average likely around 40-50 but because of the fluctuations it does not feel as smooth as a steady, lower frame rate. In less demanding areas where the minimums stay above 30 it will feel smooth when vsync is on. It’s definitely something up with this aircraft. As soon as the external power or APU is turned on, the frame rate gets very unstable. Like I said there was a post of others having the issue but it mysteriously disappeared.

I agree the fps is all over the place. However generally the performance is good.

I think they did a great job on the aircraft.

One thing that bothers me are the sharp 30 degree turns which seem to be default whenever the aircraft is on LNAV (reported on their forum as well).

Thank you for your reports guys.

I will keep an eye on it after a few updates. Post being deleted is no surprise. I read the A330 topic and I see there still having digs at FSL when ever the opportunity is there. Disappointing to read and totally uncalled for in a A330 topic. Anyway....leave them to it.

Running 30HZ 4k , no problems at all hold 30fps no drops below,it is not as hard as NGXu and FSL 3XX.

very nice to handfly and you get lot of work without AT key keep an eye on speed.

Yeah not running a 9900k here though capped out at 4.2 Ghz.

David,

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to talk you into it, but the CRJ Pro is quite a nice product. If you owned the original the Pro is a no-brainer at 25 bucks.

I haven't tried the VNAV function so I can't comment of the turn issue, but I think IRL very few CRJ's have coupled VNAV so flying it without is probably more realistic. I had the previous version and didn't fly it much because of all the quirks and problems, but I've been flying the Pro often. There are a ton of routes from 100 nm. to 600 nm. so it's a great fit for those of use that don't have time for long flights. As Westman mentions it's a nice hand flyer.

Your system is virtually identical to mine and with your 4790K depending on overclock it will perform at least as well as it does with my 6700K @ 4.4 GHz.

Here is an article with info. on UAL's CRJ 550, including routes etc. so one has an opportunity to fly some IRL routes in the 550.

Hi Steven,

Its on my watch closely list that’s for sure. But FSL are bringing out the A321 very soon and that will be an instant buy.

From the posts that don’t get deleted I see there is a CTD with charts with the EFB.

I will wait till Jan,Feb and revisit then. Thank you for your feedback as it would be nice to have a smaller jet to enjoy.

I still have navigation issues with certain sids that have vectors in them or start with rwy headings. Good luck getting it to intercept the first waypoint. My plane was like a ping pong ball until it started going in a totally incorrect direction.
