It will be done over the next week not just today, after reading this forum nobody from Avsim may be included😁. 

I highly doubt selection will be random this first time. 

I was in a Technical Alpha recently (game has been released already) and I couldn't even tell friends or family and I wasn't allowed to show my screen when any of said members were around. So I won't really expect to start seeing livestreams of the Alpha popping up anytime soon.

The MSFS NDA is exactly the same as that, it is probs a generic template MS use.  But it didn't say you were not allowed to tell others that you are in.

Yeah, but what's the point of telling people you're in? To make them jealous? To make you feel better than the others? 

I know that everyone is excited (myself included) but we should calm down and just see what comes next. No need to be bragging about the fact you're in (not saying that is what's going to happen but I have a feeling that some people might want to do that).

I'm sure they'll open up their own forum pretty soon so that people who are in can discuss with each other.

Those Biblical references are not an inside joke among the elect. (pun intended) At least mine isn't. They are just a cute way of adding gravitas to the secret nature of the NDA and the consequences of braking it. Of course that all went over the heads of the heathens among you. 🤣

What's the point of this forum? What's the point of your post? There isn't one lol :).  I'm interested to know if others have got in so I have a better idea of my chances to get in, I'm sure others have a similar reason.

I confess that I might have been a bit too harsh there but I just have a feeling that this is some kind of race or challenge for some. Like "who will be the first to receive an invite?". I too am curious to see when the invites go out but it won't tell us anything about our chances (like is it based on network speed? PC specs? Random?).

Hopefully our prayers will be answered soon 😉 

I think they will start picking from tomorrow rather than today, since they messed up the dates for the update today.

I signed up for the insider program and sent my dxdiag file and completed the survey...did I have to do a separate application for TechAlpha1 or is it the same thing?

Same thing, you signed up for tech alpha 1, which just refers to the first batch of testers.  If you don't get selected then you get automatically moved to tech alpha 2 and so on, so you don't have to worry about having to sign up again.
