You are dismissing a possible upgrade to an existing product, of which we don't know the content, in favour of a possible new product, of which we don't know the content? We have a much better idea of what MSFS will bring versus the next version P3D. And given how little growth the P3D base program has seen over V4, there's little reason to be optimistic about any sort of dramatic improvements in V5.
December 16, 20196 yr Nice thread. In the former Soviet union, they would have two newspapers: the Prawda, which means "Truth", and the Isvestija, which means "News". There was the saying "the Truth has no news and the News have no truth". December 16, 20196 yr There is still hope for P3D if we can fly it in VR and can't with MSFS. Exactly. Especially since not even the pretty basic bugs like mixture, turboprop simulation etc. still haven't been fixed P3D and I doubt that they will re-write the whole aerodynamics model in any future version.

Thinking that MS will not come to the institutional market (flight schools and military) boasting of their new flight modeling and terrain accuracy (targeting !) would be a dangerous assumption for LM to do. This is where the big margins are. December 16, 20196 yr Commercial Member There will likely be a commercial version just like last time. Microsoft won't target professional customers with a home user sim. If there isn't a new esp type product available at launch then there will be shortly afterwards. It is more likely that people like LM will license that. December 16, 20196 yr And another P3D thread where some MSFS guys sing the "P3D is dead" song. Looks like a case of "premature evaluation" of a product that isn't even in Alpha at this moment 😎 System: i9 [email protected] - 32 GB RAM - Aorus 1080ti --- Sim/Addons: P3D v5 + ProSim737
December 16, 20196 yr I think it is but that those who know this cannot tell anyone. Or is it that they can tell that there is one but not what it is. Or is it that they can tell what it is but not what it does. The rumour (rumor) mongers are having a feeding frenzy Speculation without information can apparently be highly exciting but it can also be tedious and intrusive when it appears everywhere, whether on topic or not.

December 16, 20196 yr Author I just noticed that the author of the "rumor" is Richard Bui from Orbx (Wildweasel on Libertysim), so this isn't a rumor anymore, we can say for sure that P3D V5 beta test started last thursday.
