It looks like the AI traffic will be generic, which makes sense since using real airlines would be an ungodly amount of work.

If you mean aesthetically - I predict it'll be about two hours post-launch before the first "real airlines" mod comes out, haha.  With the SDK potentially being available to everyone before release, it could even be ready to go pre-launch.

I wouldn't blame them.  Most users wouldn't care anyway, and they'd know that modders will fill in that particular gap quickly, for anyone who does care.

All of that said, I wouldn't assume anything about branding and so on, based on alpha clips.  It's entirely possible they just haven't bothered finishing "official" liveries and stuff yet, since it's not exactly critical work.

If real traffic information is injected, I can deal with generic liveries until people start adding AI liveries.

I just wonder if they will add real traffic or FSX style traffic... and in the first case, how that will work with ATC

They already confirmed in interviews real traffic data

Difficult to say anything. These guys have been busy designing a new FDE architecture, a new weather engine, a new terrain engine, a new air engine,  about a dozen aircraft I would bet that the AI liveries were not in their first priorities for the aplha 1 build.

Yup. But is a WIP, so maybe at release we don’t have it yet.

At 3:33 you can see a airport fire truck driving around.

Actually this episode is fantastic for watching airport vehicles. I’ve seen more variety than never before. And I’m in love with that fire truck...

What I would like is the option to set vehicles depending of the airport, so if I decide to create new vehicles for a certain place, not having them spawning on every airport of the world. I hopes some 3rd party developer ask for this...

yeah at 4:40 you can see a truck sitting at the taxiway waiting for the plane to clear the runaway before crossing.

Also I found a funny bug, this plane seems to be uh hovering above the jetway

I noticed that too. I hope, that the ground vehicles are communicating with ATC for clearance and most importantly don't crash into (drive through) airplanes and other ground traffic (although I believe there was a truck driving through baggage carts in the first trailer)

I'm not sure how many actually use default traffic. Can't imagine it's a lot. That A330 is the first thing I've seen that I haven't been too impressed with. But it's early. Alpha India Group has an amazing app that installs airlines for you, just choose what you want. And P3D4 native. I'm praying that will carry over to FS. But generic AI traffic in the new sim is one thing I'm willing to bet on.

What is the plane behind the TBM at 2:48?

Not really. A good coder could make that pretty quick. All you need is access to a database and make a script that converts it to whatever format the simulator wants/needs. The repaints will take some more time though, and I'm sure copyright/trademark laws will prevent Microsoft from including commercial airlines, sadly.  But lets hope some 3rd party steps up to do the job. One concern though is that if the old texture sheet method of painting aircraft is changed it will be a much more demanding process to make paints.

I really hope so. AI traffic and "life" really makes a huge difference IMHO. The effect of not having any "life" was really felt when trying out Aerofly FS.
