People aren't going to like what I say here now - because this is a bit of a complaint, or negative feedback.

I take issue with those who said the ai aircraft looked quality, to tell you the truth, I think Microsoft might have put that 'thing' in there to see if people's eyes were just getting a bit too rose-tinted.

Have - myself always been pretty good at recognising aircraft types, and that ai aircraft trundling and twitching along a taxiway there - it didn't really connect with any type I know in my mental aircraft recognition memory bank!

May be meant to be an airbus A330....thats the closest aircraft I could think of that it looked like....but no....quite far from that.

The cockpit area was all wrong really, and also its stance would be wrong compared to an A330.

The AI aircraft I have been downloading from AIG to put into P3d are on a bar much higher than the ai aircraft shown there.

Also....whats still all this same old twitching in its movements?

Can't they put an algorithm into the movement transition that smooths that out?

Sorry to put a damper on this excellent video, thought the rest of vid was great really.😯

Does anyone know which airport that is at 5:50?

KSFO

I'm wondering how big the budget for the simulator's development could be.

I would guess something like this:

They have been working for 5 years on this project now if my memory is good. With about 50 people. They probably went for a joint venture so Microsoft is probably paying a monthly fee to Asobo to work for them. 50 developers (in France salary + expenses for a developper +/- 4.500 $) This would be 225.000 $ / month salaries. 225.000$ x 60 months = 13.500.000 $

You add special equipment worth 2.000.000 dollars. Special expenses (travelling France/Seattle etc) Marketing budget / contracts / licenses for 5.000.000 $

My guess would be arround: 13.500.000 + 2.000.000 + 5.000.000 = 20.500.000 USD

Impressive...most impressive.

Which cockpit area do you mean? If there was a cockpit from a jet featured in the video, then that would be the A320, right? The A330 seems to be featured only as AI.

Also I believe this is the first hint of AI traffic that we've seen, and they did say it's a feature that might not make launch date. This means that right now it's either in early stage or just a port of the old AI traffic system. This episode is a showcase of the new sound system after all, they're not looking to demonstrate visuals or aircraft systems in this video. Some of the footage could even be several months old, as evidenced by the trailers and previous episodes.

Watched it for the 3rd time now and I‘m still blown away by it all. The airports KSFO and Renton(?) and their surrounding areas look spectacularly good. Most trees appear to be generic and they look great. Was this also the case back in September when they showcased Seattle?

i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

The sound is great, but look at those STUNNING aircraft exteriors and interiors! the heat haze coming from the turboprops exhaust. The amazing airports, replete with realistic vehicles. Blown away.

OMG This shot at the end with the poor Cessna between all the puddles, it must feel soo lonely to be in the pilot seat with this kind of weather!

And the waves reacting to the wind omgomgomg, and taking in consideration different fauna based on the location.... you guys are crazy 🤤

Thank you!

"Umm..tower, I'm gonna need to taxi back to the east ramp..."

the cloudscape during the doppler test at 5:31 (I think its a DA-42) is so real Im still not sure if its the sim.  In fact there are a few places where Im really not sure if its the sim or real.  and the 'generic' trees do look really good.  and the wind and waves at SFO are incredible.  and so is the rain and thunder/lightning with the Cessna.

its really good.  crickets HA!  love it!

There's always a sunset happening somewhere in the world that somebody is enjoying.

So with the environmental soundscapes and on the ground visuals being this stunning, they have to allow us to exit the cockpit and walk around (perhaps even drive around), right?

Bush flying just got a whole lot more exciting, but also just pre-flighting as you hear the ambient noise on the ramp.

One thing that struck me is how absolutely high the bar is for 3rd party developers when it comes to airplanes now. Anyone who puts out something only at the standards of P3D is not going to do well.

I am honestly shocked at the level of detail here. Would anybody have critcized MS for not including crickets sounds in a FLIGHT SIMULATOR? Or having the waves change intensity with wind? Probably not. They've really gone above an beyond here. Honestly this could be the base for a 'life simulator' at this point with some added support for ground vehicles and people.

Even Greta will be happy as we dont need to travel on real Aircraft any more...

I am totally speachless of what they are making. Far beyound expectations.

😁 lol!

I thought of that too.  I was wondering why they'd bother with such ambient detail like they are, and yes it makes perfect sense if exiting the planes and walkabouts are implemented.

Bush Flying Unlimited, the simulator!

I wonder if they were looking at LM and LR’s HQ when playing the crickets.
