Day and Night soundscapes, but no mention of seasonal sounds.

Also don't worry too much, even after this product is released this is now an ongoing development so it could come at a later stage.

January 16th, 2020 – Insider Update

POSTED BY: MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR TEAM

FEATURE DISCOVERY SERIES – EPISODE 5 (SOUNDSCAPE) IS HERE!

I am blown away by this video

One thing is sure... MS couldn't find a better dev than Asobo. Incredible.

I'm speechless. I'm starting to think this actually is a virtual travel system; with such biome system, I can simply explore the world from my couch, plane or not.

I suspect the rename of the testing to just "Alpha" is probably meant to represent that they are no longer doing discrete tests - more that the alpha is going to be a rolling thing they occasionally invite more people to.  So now they can just roll out new testing clients whenever they want, instead of having discrete testing flights.

Imagine the possibilities, Microsoft could comback to Train simulator as well in this same world, maybe a ship/boat simulator as well.

this is more like earth Simulator! .... with planes!

Amazing sounds!

Really happy to see ground vehicles and airport elevations. Take a look at 8:46 and pause in the video. If you look at the taxiway\runway lights in the distance, you can clearly see taxiway\runway elevations are there. No more flat runways!

And those waves... They change height based on wind speed.... incredible!

They confirmed sloped runways very early on.

Waiting for the first "Incredible audio is all well and good but..." lol

Okay, it might seem odd to say but this was my favorite Feature Discovery vid yet.  The soundscape in this is utterly amazing.  I'm literally blown away by what they've done.

The graphics shown off in this vid were spectacular too, but the dynamism of the sounds is just incredible.

They gave this sim the wrong name.  It's not Microsoft Flight Simulator, it's Microsoft Earth Simulator!!!!!

Wow.  The differences in ambient nature sounds from day to night....

Can't wait for Earth Sim 2020.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I am done with FSX completely - I have one system just for FSX and few addons like pmdg md-11 (yeah, I own the CD version).  Right now I have 3 windows systems - FSX, P3Dv4.5 and Xplane 11.  Just gonna get rid of FSX-SE once and for all and reclaim 512GB SSD

I wanna sit on any spot on the planet (hopefully in VR) and hear the birds with this sim - 😜
