October 13, 200619 yr I want to compile a list of commercial addons that work with FSX. I have about a dozen of them and I will try them on FSX during the next few days, and I will report back to this list.If anyone had try any addons that work with FSX, please append to this list.Thnx
October 13, 200619 yr VoiceBuddy worked without any changes. Just fired it up and it happily did its thing, even with the heavily modified profile that I used for FS9. Now I need to scrutinize the FSX keyboard controls for new/changed items and make a new profile for FSX.Traffic 2005 working, mostly. Takes a few steps. You'll need to to be comfortable copying files around:- Copied all the AI aircraft folders (JFAI*) to a new folder under SimObjects (I named it AIAirplanes.)- Added the new SimObjects folder to the MAIN section of fsx.cfg (SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjectsAIAirplanes.) (Incidently, the SimObjectPaths can be anywhere, even another drive. Just specify the full path.)- Copied the traffic.bgl from fs9sceneryworldscenery to fsxsceneryworldscenery.- Renamed existing fsxsceneryworldscenerytrafficAircraft.bgl to trafficAircraft.bgl.original (gets rid of FSX AI traffic.)- Renamed fsxairlines.cfg to airlines.cfg.original- Copied airlines.cfg from fs9aircraft to fsx (note new location!)- Copied my EditVoicePack edited voice file fs9soundevp_Accelerated.gvp to fsxsoundATC (note new location!)- Renamed existing fsxsoundATCUSEnglishBig.gvp to USEnglishBig.gvp.orginal.If you want to make any changes to Traffic 2005, they will need to be done in FS9, then the changed files copied over to FSX.TrackIR4 is working fine with the new drivers from NaturalPoint....jim
October 13, 200619 yr It is not EditVoicePack that works with FSX.It is the .gvp file generated by EditVoicePack while running with FS9 that works with FSX.Just wanted to be clear about that. :-)...jim
October 15, 200619 yr Where does the airlines.cfg go.?Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
October 15, 200619 yr Jim,Which drivers are you using for TrackIR - I'm using 29alpha3 and cant get any response in fsx?CheersMike

October 15, 200619 yr VFR Photographic Scenery works with FSX (or at least the Northern England one I tried does) I'm not too surprised that it works, the only thing you have to do is browse to the scenery folder and then install in the normal add-on scenery way. I didn't actually try the increased elevation data, as it's presumably the same elevation data from the space shuttle in FSX as was used in the VFR package, although the data from the VFR package did actually install into the scenery folder ok.Not had any joy with PMDG's 737 or 747 in FSX, the 737 installs alright with a bit of messing about, apears on the hangar list too (albeit with no preview image), but the PMDG 737 looks for FSUIPC and is trying to install a gauge when you fire up a PMDG B737. Not tried anything beyond that to sort it out, so maybe there is some way to get it to work. The (download version) of PMDG's B-747 is unable to install at all since it has an install pckage which wants to see FS9, and while I could re-install FS9, it's my understanding that the B-747 package tweeks a lot of FS files upon install, meaning a straight copy over to the FSX folder from FS9 would doubtless not work.Going to try some SimFlyers airport scenery and 727 Professional in a little while - I'll let you know if they work. October 15, 200619 yr Thanks for the information Dave.I took the plunge and retired my old FDC Version 1 and purchased version FDC Live Cockpit 3 at Aerosoft via download. FDC is one of my all time favorite "must have" programs. Seemed like the perfect time to upgrade with the release of FSX.Thanks for all your hard work and for staying on top of all the needed changes in such a timely manner.Kindest Regards,George
October 15, 200619 yr >I have UT working pretty well without AFCADS installed from>FS9.>>Thanks>AndyCan you tell me exactly how you did it?
October 15, 200619 yr The latest release for TrackIR (4.1.029 alpha 3) works great in FSX. Download from http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/Tra...29.alpha.03.exe and give it a try. I've had it working for a few days now, and don't seem to be having any probs.
October 15, 200619 yr The 4.1.029a3 build works fine for me in FSX but it causes the viewpoint to jitter randomly in GTR2 if the framerate falls below about 25fps.
October 16, 200619 yr VFR Terrain England & Wales, which is a 19 metre mesh works fine. I just pointed the scenery library at the add-on's DTM folder.Don't add the other three folders though, these cause a conflict with FSX. So you won't get the full functionality (the waterclass, new coastlines etc.) but you will get the great high-detailed terrain.Anyone got any of the Dreamfleet/Flight1/Eaglesoft aircraft working? I really miss using a decent GPS. I really hope the RealityXP ones are workable soon.
