October 16, 200619 yr My Shockwave P-51 works. Just copied the installed folder from FS9 to FSX and voila. Can't get my Captain Sim planes to work yet, gauges are all invisible. ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
October 16, 200619 yr . . with the exception of the turn/slip indicator, the Long Island Classics Christen Eagle works fine, too. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 16, 200619 yr I've copied over some cloud textures from Flight Environment. The FSX looks 100 percent with those rather poor default cloud textures overwritten.
October 16, 200619 yr Ultimate Terrain will work. But after turning everything off essentially except the lighting (I love UT lighting) flying FSX became a jutteriing mess. Impossible to fly at some points my fps going down to 1 fps turning towards the lighted city of KSEA. I had to remove it! UT looks fantastic in FS9 but as expected addons will be a big problem with FSX.
October 19, 200619 yr The DreamFleet Archer is fine, with the exception of the turn/slip indicator. Interesting, in light of PaulJ's post.Dugald
October 19, 200619 yr Thought I had Aerosim L1011 working until I got a memory message and ctd. Everything working, including all gauges, VC, 2D etc. Took off after about 5 seconds in flight I got a Memory conflict. I could taxi around the airports but once in the air and after gear was up it stopped.Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
October 20, 200619 yr I've noticed that the landing lights don't illuminate the runway when using FS9 aircraft even though the box is checked in FSX.AlphaSim F-22 Raptor works perfect.FS2x/CLS F-117A works great. Only issue is that the bomb cart doesn't show up when you power down the plane like it does in FS9. http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...s/Mullins01.jpg"A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting." - The DoctorDon MullinsNiceville, FL.
October 20, 200619 yr . . . The RealAir Spit appears to work flawlessly. Actually fps drops perhaps 3-4 below the default Cessna, but no big deal. I'm having issues with TrackIR4, though: if I look down (to the ignition switch on the Cessna, for e.g.) the whole thing will rotate, looking at the seat pan, and then stay there until I "F12"-it. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
October 20, 200619 yr So, what I'm hearing is that nothing from FS9 works in FSX so far? Bummer... was kind of hoping there would ba a plane or two I could try. The Flight Environment clouds are nice to hear though. Any change in performance at all? - Aaron
October 20, 200619 yr This instruction should work with FlightOne aircrafts which use the FlightOne wrapper puchase module.Install one aircraft at a time.1. Rename the 'Texture' directory to something like 'Texture.Original'2. Install your F1 aircraft with the original download and designate 'Microsoft Flight Simulator X' or whatever name you used for FSX as the root target directory.3. The installation will create directories "Aircraft" and "Texture".4. Move the folder (or folders if there are more than one variant of the aircraft) containing your aircraft to 'SimObjectsAirplanes' 5. Copy everything from the 'Texture' folder in the root of FSX to the 'Texture' (or 'Texture.xxx' where xxx is name of the variant) folder of your aircraft FOR each variant.6. Delete the 'Texture' folder under FSX7. Goto back to step 2 for the next aircraft.8. When finish with all you F1 aircraft, delete the 'Texture folder' under FSX, and rename 'Texture.Original' back to 'Texture'Hope this works out for you simmers.
October 20, 200619 yr I copied over the Eaglesoft Liberty XL2 to FSX and it seemed to run fine. Great having a decent GPS in the sim (though not quite RealityXP standard). I notice that owners of the XL2 are being encouraged to part with 70 percent of the original cost of the plane for an offical FSX version though. Which seems a bit odd. Unless it's got lots of new stuff.
October 20, 200619 yr I don't have this one, but the F1 PC12 is cpu killer. Doesn't matter if it is FS9 or FSX. Xtreme KingAir 200 is very cpu friendly.
October 21, 200619 yr That was their style when the SR-22 came out. I stopped pitching my money their way accordingly. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
October 21, 200619 yr ResHack did the trick in helping me change "Brakes" to "B", "Parking Brakes etc" to "PB", and "Differential Brakes" to "DB",Or get rid of these completly. I like to know that my equipment (rudder pedals and keyboard) are functioning correctly with the "not as offensive" reduced popup tags,Or none at all, Thanks for the tip!ResHackhttp://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/What I did1. Saved the original copy of FSX's language.dll to a safe place2. Opened copy of language.dll with ResHack (File/Open/ then select file3. Open Folder 'String Table' by clicking on + sign4. Scroll to Folder '2337', open folder(click on + sign) and click on 10335. Change string 37377, from "Brakes" to "B", Or just the 2 parenthese6. Change string 37378, from "Parking Brakes...press . to disengage" to "PB"7. Close folder8. Scroll to Folder 2344, open as above9. change stringtable line 37494, from "Differential Brakes" to "DB"10. Close folder11. File /Save12. Close and recompile if asked.
