March 5, 20206 yr this is how things look most of Mar, Apr and May in my country (Saudi Arabia), is MSFS going to simulate these conditions as accurate as possible? March 5, 20206 yr They haven't talked about season support yet. Although they put out a Let It Snow video. They do pull live weather, so maybe that is enough if it is just heavy rain and wind. If it is a sand or dust storm, then do those show up in the weather reports? (I assume this is dust or sand storm, not sure though.) So not sure if they will. But trying to avoid a sand storm, or getting caught in one, would be cool. So I hope they do. My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night. He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler. He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant. As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine. Stay safe out there. (Updated 4/6)

I don't know if there's a METAR designation for a dust- & sand-storms - other than a visibility change / limitation? March 5, 20206 yr Nice. I notice the scale goes up to 1,000 micrograms per cubic meter. (They may record higher values.) I don't know what 1,000 looks like, so I looked it up and found some sample pictures. https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2015-04/16/content_20450605.htm There are a few more pictures on that site from the same sandstorm. There very much is, the codes DU (dust), SA (sand), DS (dust storm), Hz (haze) and SS (sand storm) cover this. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.

March 5, 20206 yr At the very least, I think they will have accurate visibility when it comes to dust, etc. Whether it'll be tinted to look like dust, I'd guess not on release, but who knows. When I fly in North Africa in real life, being in the dust layer just looks like really thick haze. Then at a certain altitude, you break out and it's just this hard line across the sky. What's funny is that it looks fake, like something simmers would complain about not being "realistic" if it were simulated in the sim. Edited March 5, 20206 yr by bonchie
March 5, 20206 yr Very interesting and I think these phenomenons could be translated basically as a visibility / fog layer with a specific hues of colors as mentioned above... It's actually pretty cool. I suspect they'll get the colors right, plus whatever color the sun and sky add to the haze. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! March 5, 20206 yr Hi, Interesting idea. I can remember seeing dust storms and dust devils right here in the USA. It would add realism to the new MSFS. However, the development team must be hard pressed just to come up with a useful, realistic flight sim this year and encompassing many of the ideas on the forum. Jim Morgan
March 6, 20206 yr Very nice find / suggestion! Would love to see this as it adds realism, immersion and challenge to flying. For those who don't want it, have option to turn it off.
