Maybe sub-forums about trees and alpha access for dummies?

Ironically, amongst Redditors Avsim has a reputation for open, reasoned, and enlightened discourse.

Nah, not really. It's known as a playground for disgruntled, snobbish, entitled white boomers. I know! The cheek of it!

😱 😋🤣

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Reddit honest?
Its the realm of the 13 year olds throwing curse words and insults at each other like it’s Saturday night at the low life bar.

You must be thinking of a different website. That sounds more like Twitter.

Doug47 is 100% correct, Definitely Reddit..

As long as nobody starts going on about Dutch Elm Disease.

That’s old news. We need to discuss the damage being caused by the Emerald Ash Borer! Since the bug has already killed almost all of the Ash trees in the northeastern US, will Asobo model this? 😉

I find Twitter quite useful. I have a small number of subscriptions (I keep them less than 60) mostly of economists, archeologists, physicists and scientific commentators and journalists in France, the US, the UK , Israel and some Arab countries. I’ve just followed a very interesting thread about the Curia Julia in Rome which came on my timeline and brought me to do further readings. Twitter is just a tool. It is not the hammer’s fault if you hurt your fingers after all😉.

Don’t start me up on the Red Palm Weevil which eating up all the palm trees in the South of France...

On the tree issue (ie back on topic) try flying from Lydd (EGMD) to Shoreham (EGKA) VFR. It's impossible to recognise anything. EG Rye golf club is covered with trees (always a useful POI), Lydd itself, the coast etc is covered with trees that simply aren't there in the real world.

Much work to do and it's a complete  immersion spoiler. Still, it's an Alpha, let's see what transpires leading to release.

That sounds like a tree placement issue rather than tree size?

It's both: it's like a misplaced giant forest whereas in reality there is the odd gorse bush and whin barely a few feet high.

I sure hope that the testers do their job and are as much a PITA as they can be 😋 !

If you want to follow research then use Researchgate. It's a terrific website, that us pointy headed elites use. Reddit is a step down but is useful if you can match up your interests with a good sub. Twitter is not a serious medium for technical people. The only thing good that I can say about it is that it isn't Facebook.

Of course it's a real, actual issue, but you're free to live in your own world where rules of scale and height perception don't apply. 🙄

Right, you know so much about my world, that’s hilarious. But each of your posts really sounds like you have so incredible much real world experience in the field of aviation you’re for sure the one who can judge actual issues in a flight sim.

I‘m excited to see how the project will progress in the coming months, with hopefully more obvious bugs being fixed and also hopefully more presentations of functionality. Sure there would be more content for future feature discovery series. Besides UI I could also think of missions for instance, even though those might not be the kinda things most simmers do most of the time.

You clearly have trouble with the concept of scale and height perception... But it takes all types I guess. 🙄

Yep, that sounds like a pressing issue, compared to fixing the tree scale. 🙄

I understand the irony but let me answer anyway.

We are about 8 billions humans. There are more than 3 trillions of trees. They are by far the dominant features of Earth ground landscapes. Sebastian Wloch was legitimately proud to say that their Ai had tagged all of them (the trees not the humans 😋). Asking for these trees to be  at the right scale, colors, varieties within a range of errors is only natural (pun not intended) and,  in a way, pays tribute to the work already done.

Sure but can’t we just ask the question, make the point and then leave them to it. What the F would a forum be discussing all day?
