What should be fixed immediately like cloud flickering or sudden weather redraws have been bugs for decades. It's disgraceful. Should have been fixed years ago. A snails pace? 16 updates in about 2 months? This is a snails pace to you? A brand new X-Plane version approximately every 3-5 years. This is a snails pace? A better, more efficient programming language, implemented by just 2 programmers in 2 years. This is a snails pace? X-Plane technology is now decades behind??? Even Vulkan?? I had no idea these problems were so old! What are Laminar thinking???? You're right. These things should be done in a quarter of the time! I want 16 updates in 2 weeks. Not this 2 months garbage. I want a new X-Plane version every YEAR! I want Vulkan implemented in 3 months!! What's this 2 years business?? Well, you've sold me. I didn't know these problems existed in X-Plane for DECADES. I'm switching to FS2020! Much thanks Greazer!! (You obviously didn't see the sarcasm in my post) Edited July 26, 20205 yr by GoranM

My favourite quotes "obviously the balloons are not doing mach 4.0, which is another sign its not as good as FSX" "the DLCs were not doing too well which caused this game to be dis con tin u-ed" Do you know what he thought was better than XP11 - and I agree: The scenery. July 26, 20205 yr Well.. this thread has surely devolved way beyond its usefulness. Which is kind of sad because I think there's an interesting discussion to be had. Those people not seeing the potential in MSFS are really hard to take even remotely serious to be honest. So are the people calling XP just about the worst thing since the bubonic plague. The release of MSFS will not kill X-plane. However given time, I would place my bets on P3D shrinking. Since MSFS I've had a harder and harder time firing up P3D and have actually used XP instead (after a rather long-ish hiatus mostly due to lack of time) and XP is indeed impressive given the size of the dev team. It sure has come a long way, there is no denying that. Add to that freeware(!) such as the immensely impressive Zibo 738 and one has to conclude that XP is one of the big boys and probably isn't going anywhere. Not to mention the growing library of excellent payware for XP. However. MSFS blew me away completely and buying the deluxe-ultra-plus-version was the nobrainer of the millenium to me. It owns the looks department. No denying that. Getting high fidelity planes into that world would be a quantum step forward. The default planes will probably not cut it, and those hoping for PMDG quality default planes will surely be disappointed. After saying all that I would like to add that my favourite OS is, beyond any doubt, Linux. If it wasn't for my hobbyist photography and the fact that no software on Linux comes close to Capture One I would not use Windows. So I am no "word not allowed" or "Microshill" or any of the derogatory and childish terms some people like to use seemingly believing it to be some kind of argument. Peace. A shame that it apparently cannot be kept constructive and mature... What do you expect from an essentially pointless thread? July 26, 20205 yr It would be refreshing if just once maturity would prevail and the adults in the room could discuss the merits of various sims in a constructive manner....I know it’ll never happen. And it obviously doesn’t belong in a specific sim’s sub-forum. Of course it would be nice to discuss X-Plane again in a constructive manner without bloviation every other post. This neighborhood has certainly gone downhill. Shame. Chris
