Overall the Fraser river segment looks pretty good. Done that kind of flying more than a couple of times in the already nice Orbx PNW scenery. I know. This is another level. Up. I understand better @LHookins and @Arwen comments of the last weeks how fantastic bush flying is. I’ve raised many times the issue of the water color and I am glad to see it as it should be. Sandy, silty. I hope it is the case everywhere. The water reflection with an ever so slight bloom (my imagination ?), gives a remarkable depth to the landscape.

The trees definitely look more and more like the weak element of the FS20 landscape. From the last alpha to the preview version, I don’t see any improvement, I look forward for a TPD doing something. Shape, height, variety.

I didn't catch whether the pilot commented on the feedback of the sand vs the grass when landing (using the iPad forward burst feature, too many vid 😏). Did he say anything ?

This video was genuinely enjoyable to watch. Perfectly shows the fun aspect of GA and Bush flying without the hassles of owning a plane.

I dunno, Dom.  I don't have a problem with the trees most places now.

I think that when you fly the thing you are less distracted by them.  Watching videos is nice but you are a spectator,  you don't have the focus on what is really important (aviate and navigate) and you don't filter out what is less important. Good to have your feedback.

Actually... I've looked for obviously oversized trees and haven't noticed any in normal flying.  I did see them when I first started flying MSFS.  The Sydney video shows obvious problems.  One other area I can't mention until someone does a video of it.

The trees have come a long way, but probably aren't finished.

Would love to do all that with the Beaver. Maybe later...

I know this part of British Columbia very well and that video was really impressive! The appearance of the Fraser River was spot on and it has that silty colour year round, the only thing missing in that regard was the turbulent nature of the river in many places (it flows pretty quickly in the areas they were flying). I wonder if that is something they will be able to add to MSFS at some point: flowing river water, animated waterfalls etc...? The evergreen trees were pretty good in the sim for that particular area, but there are more deciduous mixed in and particularly deciduous shrub near the river bank in reality. Also, the river banks are typically either mud or mixed boulders with many rather large washed up tree stumps in various places; in very few places can you land a plane that close to the Fraser river edge.  That would be a lot to expect MSFS to render the world that accurately - who knows what the future holds though?

Or the reaction of someone incredulous that a doomer is nitpicking the best trees ever seen in a sim. Hope you also put MSFS in the bin and leave us alone.
