first order of business for me will be to permanently attempt to turn off any trace of default ATC and the robotic voices.  I know some of you guys don't mind these, but i can't stand it.

Fortunately they're not robotic anymore but not sure how great of an improvement if any atc is.

The FSX voices sound more robotic then the MSFS ones.

They still sound bad to me.  Not even being critical.  Because there is only so much possible for default ATC and default ATC voices.  For me it's either vatsim or no atc at all.

Eh at least they had variety.

Considering they're using Microsoft speech synthesis, the only limitation on the number and variety of voices you can have is the number you have on your computer.  Currently it's limited.

For those who demand regional accents and controllers who talk too fast to be easily understood and other impediments to communication, I'm sure that's coming at some point. 😄

The recorded voices in FSX/P3D sound far more realistic to me, but unfortunately I guess they can't be built upon, so we're in synthetic speech which is funky I agree.  There are some good things in MSFS ATC (and of course problems), but the sound of voices isn't one of them.

Never seen cones set up around gated aircraft in the US at larger airports, this is European thing.  They can sometimes be there if the plane has a mechanical or med emergency, otherwise not happening.

I find the text to speech in MSFS far superior to the FSX voices.

Interesting.   Concatenated speech is always going to be far less realistic than fully spoken and recorded sentences, but to each his own of course.  Do you think Azure passes the Turing test?
