Microsoft Partnership Series: Blackshark.ai

Why do I always get a bad feeling, when I hear that name?

To me, the name 'BlackShark' sounds like a CIA Black-Ops Commando Unit..
- or maybe, I've watched to many Hollywood movies.

This is incredible technology. The use of all these Azure servers spread over the world makes this AI and DL process work in reasonable time. It'll be hard for a potential competitor to beat that, or their name must be Google or Apple ... or NSA. 🙂

About 12 years ago I undertook an MSc. in Remote Sensing in one of  London's big university's (basically satellite and aircraft image analysis mixed with GIS). At the time I was fascinated at how algorithms could be produced to enhance flight sim auto-gen. I remember thinking what if we could make a program that could detect the footprint of buildings and vegetation and then automatically populate the imagery using A.I.

Well, I wish I had the expertise back then to make that happen. I'd be a very rich man. I did try messing around with it but didn't get very far. I am very happy though to see my vision has been finally realized 😂

I thought the CEO/co-founder of Asobo (Sebastian Wloch) was a pilot? Maybe he's the one? I don't know, I could be wrong.

Anyone from Asobo reading this, tweet out how many of you are pilots 😄

I confirm Sebastian Wloch is a pilot pro, I spoke with him at the X019 in London and it is at this time that I saw the first time FS2020. 😊

I am glad this is finally out of the bag. I am tired of hearing that MSFS 20202 is XPlane 11 + Ortho. This is as far from the truth as it can be. It's AI drawing building. This mean the autogen really feels different everywhere.
