I'll be doing well to find my house. It's tiny, not much more than a shoe box in the middle of the road.

I've been away from all the 2020-related discussions  for some time so I'm still catching up

You've not missed anything so critical that you couldn't use your imagination to have a pretty good guess at. But just in case, I'll sum it up for you with an all-encompassing facsimile of a forum post...

ohh

here we go; into personal

do you know; sites can report anything they like; i am not concentrating on one usual and particular issue here;

do you expect everybody to praise and praise ? not really get this point; and as a cockpit builder; you might or might not know the sdk is essential to adapt configurations of various instruments and products available on the market.

you might like to see your house on the sim; frankly i do not give a toss of seeing my house on the sim; if i want that i lift off my drone and making it exactly as is in photogrammetry.

talking about keeping a sense of perspective

as i said already; the fact that 20000000000000 developers have the sdk and is keep it all secret; do not get into the equation;  we are 8 days to release and still do not know if is included or not and in what shape.

It would be nice to know exactly what we pay for.

Are you an mSparks alt account? With this account dedicated to troll about the SDK just like how your original account is dedicated to troll about the trees?

trees what trees sir ?

MSFS sure looks gorgeous and has the potential to become a great Flight Simulator. Been waiting for something like this (concept) for the last 30+ years.
Once it matures I will surely enjoy exploring areas I don't even touch with other simulators (Africa for example).

It's like one other thing I can think of. When it's really good it can be transcendental. And even when it's bad, it's still pretty darn good.

I can only assume you are referring to.... pizza! 😁

That's the whole flight sim community in a nutshell. They nitpick just about anything they can find and not being happy with anything.

Yup, if you gave some flight simmers a real Cessna for free, they'd probably complain that you hadn't changed the oil.

I'd complain that it had a glass cockpit instead of analog gauges.

(There's a story behind this one involving a contest where the first prize was a Cessna 172.  Since it didn't have steam gauges, I didn't bother to enter.)

Me too. Although at least glass cockpits don't drop you in the cr@p if you're VFR on top and the vacuum pump goes. No artificial horizon in clouds is not fun; been there, done that.

I had that happen in FSX in a sailplane once.  I stayed too long in a thermal and ended up in the cloud.  No artificial horizon.  Knowing nothing more than the term, I taught myself "needle ball and airspeed" very quickly.  Luckily, it wasn't a "crash course."  🙂

Common wisdom for that is to trim a bit nose down, open the spoilers, let go of everything, let gravity take over and hope the cloud base is not one that ends in granite. Been there and done that too. 🤣

Sardonic pilots call that 'the JC maneuver', as in: 'Okay JC, you have control...'

JC take the yoke ? it doesn't have the fluidity as JC take the wheel.

Think about this.  You are in a desktop flight simulator, looking at a representation of your own house, and your first thought is that it doesn't look quite right.  Have you ever, in your wildest imaginings, thought that some day you might find your house in a flight sim?  And somehow here you are doing exactly that.

I wouldn't do that if the area I live in and all the houses I have ever lived in were covered in photogrammetry. Which they are... in Google...

I want THAT in the sim, because I know the data exists. I know it. I have even gone and checked it out in VR already.

If there was no such data, I would be content with the AI generated approximation I will get in the sim.
