Well, looks like the third parties are already getting creative in wasting the frames on this surprisingly well running sim. They all went to rendering the reflections on that Terminal 1 cafeteria's coffee maker.

Hopefully you can choose on installation if you want to install high quality interior textures or not.

It always puzzles me why today's third party developers want to spend so much efforts modeling the interior of airports. How could it make a difference to the airport scenery unless one really wants to "walk" inside the terminals but that sounds odd.

Or, those exquisitely detailed gates and lobbies could be useful if MSFS is to be further spawned into other sims like first person shooting or sth.

Is it just me or the apron textures aren't rendered just as nicely as in the older sims? They look like lower res and jagged, with a generic tarmac mask on top of them. For comparison: https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/71084-brussels-international-preview/page/36/&tab=comments#comment-974185

It's also noticeable on other devs previews.

Also that sunset like lighting looks a bit too warm, a bit overdone IMO. Other than that this new sim looks miles away better than anything else.

Yeah a clear difference between their p3d screenshots and MSFS’. Can’t have it all my friend!

It makes me think that they already know something about the VR implementation that is coming for the sim. You are going to be able to walk through the terminal,  the jet bridge, onto the plane and into the cockpit etc...? That would explain putting so much detail into those areas.

Looks like the default jetway SDK is very capable. I'm seeing jetways of different heights and a lot of detail. The joys of a new platform! Hopefully multi-jetway support is either already functioning or on the way (either for launch SDK or as an SDK update), I'd hate for a new sim to need an addon for multi-jetways.

(also that interior looks crazy good)

I personally like to see detailed interiors where there are glass fronted terminals and other buildings. Much better than "painted on" reflection textures which almost always leave a lot to be desired.

Looks like I will  be spending more time inside the terminal building than actually flying lol

I can't wait to re-experience all my many, many happy hours waiting in airport terminals or walking between terminals trying to find the right gate.

It would be great if this could be added as some of the challenges you can try: "Find the right gate before it closes" - "Find something nice and inexpensive to eat" etc.

We have no idea yet if airport like this with detail like this will have a FPS or not, we think it will because it does in P3D but this is a totally new engine so I suggest we wait and see.

For AS to draw the sky and weather with the countless layers that we see in MSFS would bring P3D to single digits but not in MSFS. So let's wait and see.

I'll skip that, thanks. With the amount of times that automatic security scanners pick me for a random search, it would end up being MSSF - Microsoft Security Scanner Frustration!😁

I usually joke with the security staff that I must have "Random" tattooed on my forehead!
