Even the default planes on here are above and beyond anything we've ever seen in any other flight sim.

Because all the alpha and beta testers were saying you won't regret your purchase, its the best thing ever.  I believed them.

Maybe not all of them, but you're correct, there were a large number of people in the testing who were saying (here on Avsim, frequently) it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Personally, I wasn't expecting too much from the included 787, so I'm not too bothered by some glitches, but it is one of the reasons I bought the Super Sexy Version of MSFS, since I did want an airliner of that range and capacity in the sim without having to wait ages for one.

Compared to P3D and X-Plane, it still is.

That still hasn't been disproven yet based on how you fly in the sim.

Well, clearly not when I have a 787 I paid thirty quid for in P3D which has a working EFB for a kick off.

I can't see the world in P3D at 38,000 feet, it's under a layer of cirrus, just like it is in the new MS simu - Doh! 🤣

Seriously guys, you won't get struck by lightning if you don't continuously blow sunshine up the developer's @rse. I'm not saying it's awful, I bought the thing and I'm looking forward to it, but this does not mean I sold my soul to them and can't point out issues.

Ha. I suspect you would be happy with vector graphics then for your button pushing simulator.

But you're not pointing out any issues. The default airliners are not study level by design. There's no issue (minus the bugs).

Ok. Well to start with, it’s wrong in that the HUD display is all green - there’s no colour variation. The lines also aren’t thick enough. Without him moving seat position it’s difficult to tell how successful the implementation is otherwise, but it looks like he’s sitting too high and too close. In real life to improve that you’d lower your seat and move back a little.

When you’ve got it in the right place it looks like this;

Well yeah but it should look like this no matter if you move your eyepoint. However irl the HUD image will just go away quite quickly if you're not sitting in the right spot. In any way it should be aligned with the outside, and this clearly is not the case. Apart from all the visual imperfections, which I find minor to the actual alignment problems. Which makes me think the virtual image is very likely not where it is supposed to be, like 200' in front of the aircraft or whatever the number is on that type. I could use a colored HUD with thin lines if it was at least working alright.

Not really. Graphically by far, on other aspects you will miss those sims (yeah, I said miss, coming back is also really hard).
