I can't believe that I can run it on "ultra" smoothly... wow

Featured Replies

I simply can't believe that I can run it on "ultra" settings smoothly... on my i7 3770k with a GTX 970. That is just insane. Wow.

This thing is stunning. Thank you again, Asobo/MS.

And to all people considering a hardware upgrade: Just try it first. You might be really surprised how well it runs even on older hardware!

Yep its epic hey

Funny, because it's literally just finished downloading for me, and it has recommended high settings based on my system specs - which is GTX1070 8GB, i7-8700. Clearly I'll be ignoring the recommended setting and trying ultra, anyway.

It all depends on where you fly. Post a video showing Ultra settings in NYC with your system. It will be a slide show.

Stop spreading false information and giving the community something to be excited about.

@Weatherman At what resolution and rendering scale? Was it from an internal view? Without that the information is useless.

No it's not useless. I just wanted to give the advice to everyone, to first try and then judge whether you want to upgrade your hardware. There might be some surprises. I am well aware that if you set your display settings to extremely high resolution and fly over NYC with photogrammetry with a complciated 3PD plane add on there is of course an impact on your FPS.

What is acceptable or not is very subjective anyway. Just try before upgrading.

4K 60FPS Ultra on GTX970 confirmed!

Not just in NYC but in any city. That pretty much means most of the world. Plus, we are talking about basic aircraft. Just wait until a complex airliner or GA is added to the sim. We are back to tweaking and chasing FPS.

Just ignore my post then, since it was not directed to bashers and whiners but to the average user that might find this info helpful when considering a hardware upgrade. You can get a very smooth and even stunning experience in most circumstances with the hardware I have. That is a big surprise to me and might also be the case for others. That is all I am saying.

Feel free to buy a supercomputer to fly at 50.000 x 20.000 pixels over NYC with your overdone 3PD airplane. That's fine to me but that was not the point of my post.

Even most cities are completely fine (which means smooth and stunning experience wise) on plain "ultra" on my machine. That is absolutely surprising to me. I will postpone my planned hardware upgrade for now. But as I said, that decision is based on very subjective criteria, and everyone has to judge for themselves. I just want to share my experience since it might be helpful for others.

You obviously have no clue of who you are talking to. Pointing out a reality is not bashing the sim and at 55, I have no reason to whine.

But since you decided to issue a personal attack when all I tried to do was issue a warning, I'll simply add you to my ignore list.
